On April 23, Pingdingshan TV Station's large-scale calligraphy-themed TV cultural program "Ink Yun Eagle City" series of wind collection activities came to Pingdingshan Baofeng Xiangshan Temple to visit ancient monuments.
There are 15 ancient inscriptions in Xiangshan Temple, of which 4 have the highest historical value, document value, calligraphy art value, and religious and cultural value, and are known as the "Four Famous Monuments of Xiangshan Temple". Among these ancient monuments, the most precious and most familiar is Cai Jing's "Monument to the Great Compassion bodhisattva of Xiangshan Mountain" written in letters, which has been listed by the state in the seventh batch of key cultural relics protection units, and is also an important historical document that has been found to record guanyin's enlightenment and buddhahood so far, which has high historical value and artistic value.
The Xiangshan Great Compassion Bodhisattva Monument (commonly known as the Cai Jing Monument), also known as the Thousand Hands and Thousand Eyes Guanyin Bodhisattva Zhengguo Historical Monument, the treasure of the town temple of Xiangshan Temple. The stele is 2.23 meters high, 1.46 meters wide, and the inscription is 4280 words in total, standing in the Baofeng Xiangshan Temple's Great Pessimistic Sound Ofa's Pagoda Bottom Coupon Cave. The content of the inscription is the Bunsen story of the Bodhisattva of the Great Pessimistic World Yin told by the gods to the Lawyer Daoxuan at the Zhongnan Mountain Inspiration Temple in Chang'an in the early Tang Dynasty, written by Jiang Zhiqi during the Northern Song Dynasty, and Cai Jing Shudan, one of the four great calligraphers of the Song Dynasty. The publication of this book fills the gap in the history of the mainland that there is no special publication of Cai Jing's calligraphy, so that modern people can appreciate the Hanmo style of Cai Jing, one of the four major calligraphers of the Song Dynasty, who is "strict but not informal, easy and not outside, and beautiful in penmanship"; it proves that baofeng Xiangshan Temple on Pingdingshan Mountain is the birthplace of Chinese Guanyin culture, and confirms that Miaoshan Guanyin Bodhisattva "was born at Baique Temple, preached in Xiangshan, and appeared in the South China Sea", as well as the legend that "Xiangshan has a monument and Putuo has a temple", which has important value and significance for the study of the history of Buddhism on the mainland.
Yao Junqian, vice chairman of the Pingdingshan City Book Association and chairman of the Baofeng County Book Association, told reporters that the Great Compassion Bodhisattva Monument, commonly known as the Cai Jing Monument, has a high calligraphy artistic value, and through "Ink Yun Eagle City", it can further recommend the ancient stele of the national treasure level to the world, which is a great thing, and has played a very good role in the entire cultural taste of Eagle City, excavating calligraphy resources, and polishing cultural business cards.
It is understood that the launching ceremony of the "Ink Eagle City" program will be held in the No. 1 studio hall of Pingdingshan Radio and Television Station in early May.
