There is no standard and no standard for calligraphy, which causes the calligraphy market to only be judged by position, and it also brings about every change of calligraphy association from the national to the local, and the scandals are constantly and noisy. In recent years, there have been too many calligraphy exhibitions, and the disorderly development is an important reason. In addition, colleges and universities have calligraphy majors regardless of arts and sciences, as if the whole society does not understand calligraphy and does not understand art and traditional culture. And the number of calligraphers is large, and the society does not need it, so it is imperative for calligraphers to change careers! Among all the contemporary series of artists who can be artists, calligraphers occupied a lot of "limelight" in the past few years, but now they are relatively lonely. In this loneliness, calligraphers should reflect on themselves and have time to read a few books seriously; Calligraphers should practice in "retreat" to re-understand calligraphy, culture, self, and society. The situation in which calligraphers generally read less and write more should be changed, and they should become a truly literate person, and they should read a lot of books—read miscellaneous books, and become miscellaneous writers. The style of calligraphy in the Republic of China has been recognized so far because the calligraphy of the Republic of China is generally written by scholars and influential politicians, and there are several stories behind the calligraphy. And contemporary calligraphy lacks both characters and stories! Traditional calligraphy, except for anonymous inscriptions, there is a living person behind every work, and every surviving calligrapher left by history is not a "calligrapher" who specializes in writing for a living, or a dignitary, or a celebrity. Now, in a few years, will it be just the work of our contemporary calligraphers? In normal life in the future, pen and ink will only be used by calligraphers and calligraphy enthusiasts, and ordinary people rarely write, let alone calligraphy. It is difficult to imagine what kind of calligraphy and what kind of people are needed to pass on contemporary calligraphy. What we see is that when the calligrapher was alive and in power, he was high and expensive, but when he died or was not in office, no one cared about him or the price of the characters plummeted. People's hearts are like iron, iron is rusty, and a piece of paper turns over to see people's feelings. Once, I saw a piece of He Shaoji's calligraphy in the Liuli Factory, which was sold for 80,000 yuan, and the businessman said: This Qing people's words, it is not easy to live on their own! Cultural consciousness means that cultural people can know themselves and do things consciously. In contemporary society, we must not only write, but also have more skills. Lu Xun once said that survival is the first, and only by surviving can we create the world. The choice of calligraphers at the moment, on the one hand, should do more in-depth research on calligraphy, including inscriptions, historical materials, etc.; On the one hand, do something related to calligraphy, the so-called "kung fu is outside the poem", and kung fu is also outside the book. What we can do now is to seek more opportunities and more development in addition to calligraphy. To be a painter, a writer, a researcher, etc., is not just to be a calligrapher. Society does not give calligraphers much room to survive, and we should realize that calligraphy belongs to the spiritual space, is an art, but not necessarily a way to live. Nowadays, most grassroots calligraphers have become calligraphy teachers in extracurricular classes, and the competition is quite fierce. Calligraphers can't all be teachers, but there should be more options – I've always advocated adding calligraphers to different fields. After all, no matter how good calligraphy is, for a modern person, it is just your great hobby, and you should open up more space for yourself in life outside of calligraphy. Sociologist Fei Xiaotong said that only with the spirit of cultural consciousness can we have the conditions to determine our position in this multicultural world that is taking shape. There are many people who read Wang Yangming now, and I remember him saying: "Whoever seeks what he can't do and what he can't do with his wealth must use his own strength." ”
