The new energy intelligent SUV in the early 300,000s does not have many options strictly speaking, and Lantu FREE is one of them, and it may be more consumers to know than Lantu FREE, its opponent ideal ONE.
Coincidentally, the 2021 Ideal ONE has just finished our ICT-300 smart car test, with a total score of 225, ranking 4th on the list. This score and ranking is undoubtedly very excellent, so as the opponent of the ideal ONE, how does Lantu FREE perform?

Smart driving section
Landu FREE scored 75 points in the smart driving segment, ranking 27th in the smart driving list. This scoring performance is not too good, mainly because Lantu FREE's evasion of dummies and fake cars is not good, and this piece does not get too many points. But fortunately, the Aratsula Free Auto Park challenge all passed, and the board returned a part of the score.
Sensor configuration
In terms of driving assistance, the Landu FREE series is equipped with L2-level driving assistance functions as standard, and on the hardware, landhufree has 3 millimeter wave radars (front 1 and rear 2), 9 cameras (2 front view front view, 1 front night vision, 2 inside the car, 4 surround view cameras) and 12 ultrasonic radars. In terms of intelligent driving chips, lantu officials have not announced relevant information at present. In terms of higher-level driving assistance functions, Landu is still planning the research and development stage.
Another interesting thing is that some models of Landu FREE are equipped with a night vision system, the night vision system is built through the night vision camera at the front of the car, and the night vision system is based on the Horizon Journey 2 chip.
Upgrade capabilities
Landu FREE support vehicle OTA upgrade, at the end of December 2021 pushed the first vehicle remote OTA upgrade, we got the test drive when the first time to upgrade the vehicle software version to V1.1.0, Landu FREE This version of the upgrade includes vehicle upgrades, strong perception of high frequency, security upgrades and other more than 60 functions, mainly covering entertainment, interaction, experience, vision four aspects. However, because the OTA part is not designed for intelligent driving and performance, the upgrade ability of the Landu FREE has not yet achieved full scores (the score is based on whether the corresponding function has a real OTA upgrade push).

Adaptive cruise test
Test conditions: The test car starts the adaptive cruise function at 80km/h, and sets the following distance to the second compartment. Then, during the driving process, the target vehicle will encounter non-emergency congestion in front, and then the target vehicle will slowly stop and start again after 10 seconds after stopping.
High-speed cornering is maintained
Test conditions: The test vehicle starts the adaptive cruise and lane keeping functions at 80km/h, and then the vehicle passes a curve to test the vehicle's lane-keeping ability at high speed.
Special Terrain: Pile Identification
Test conditions: The test vehicle opens all driving assistance functions at a speed of 30km/h to test whether there will be warnings or avoidance actions when the vehicle encounters the pile bucket group.

Pedestrian scene recognition and avoidance
The above three items are tests of the driving assistance function of the vehicle, and as a smart car, in addition to helping the driver "drive", it must also help the driver avoid possible traffic accidents. So next we will conduct an obstacle avoidance test on Landu FREE, that is, we will find some dummies and fake cars to come out and see if Landu FREE can brake and avoid in time.
Fixed dummy identification and avoidance
Test conditions: a child dummy is fixed in the middle of the zebra crossing, the test car starts the adaptive cruise at a speed of 50km/h and all the driving assistance functions pass to see if the test car can stop in time in front of the dummy.
Mobile dummy identification and avoidance
Test conditions: An adult dummy will pass the zebra crossing at a speed of 5km/h, and then the test car will turn on the adaptive cruise at a speed of 40km/h and all the driving assistance functions will pass to see if the test car can stop in time in front of the dummy.
Mobile dummy ghost probe identification and evasion
Test conditions: The child dummy crosses the zebra crossing at a speed of 5km/h, and the test vehicle starts cruising at 40km/h and passes all driving assistance functions. Unlike the mobile dummy crossing test, the ghost probe will add a fixed obstacle car to the front side of the zebra crossing, which will form an emergency situation of "ghost probe" when the test vehicle is close to the zebra crossing.
Tunnel fixed obstacle vehicle identification and avoidance
Test conditions: A fixed target vehicle model is placed in the simulated tunnel, and the test vehicle starts cruising at a speed of 50knm/h and all driving assistance functions are close to see if the final test vehicle can avoid the target vehicle. The project of the tunnel fixed target vehicle is actually a simulation of the situation that when entering the tunnel during daily driving, there is a sudden stop in the tunnel. In this case, because the driver has a large contrast in light inside and outside the tunnel, there is a high probability that the car stopped in the tunnel will not be found in time, which will eventually lead to a rear-end accident. If the vehicle's driver assistance system can avoid this type of obstacle car, it will give the occupants an extra guarantee.

Test conditions: The target vehicle will be more urgent at a speed of 20km/h, while the test vehicle will cruise at a speed of 50km/h.

Automatic parking
The full range of Landu FREE is equipped with visual fusion automatic parking as standard, supporting horizontal and vertical oblique train positions, and can be parked at the front of the train. Landu FREE car length of 4.9 meters, body width of 1.95 meters, such a size, Landu FREE can still successfully park our planned parking spaces (vertical parking spaces, side orientation, side orientation with obstacles), which gives us a relatively large surprise.

Open road testing
Next we drive the vehicle to the high speed and see how the vehicle's driver assistance system is performing on the actual road. Landu FREE can activate the smart cruise function with one click, that is, activate the adaptive cruise and lane keeping functions at the same time. In most cases, the performance of Landu FREE is relatively normal, and there is no abnormal situation in the acceleration and deceleration of the car, the distance, and the lane keeping.
However, there are a small part of the case, and Lantu FREE is a bit interesting. Sometimes in the corners of the main road, the lane keeping system performance is not stable, the steering wheel is continuously stiffly adjusted, and the body also has a slight dragon painting phenomenon. In addition, the night before, on the highway to the test site, Lantu FREE's lane keeping performance was even stranger: the lane remained less stable, and the phenomenon of drawing dragons was more obvious. Overall, the free performance of Lantu is better, but the stability of the scene can be improved a little more.
The first time you enter the car of Lantu FREE, you must be happy. First of all, the car fragrance will make you feel refreshed, after sitting in the driver's seat, you will touch the various high-grade leathers covered by the central control, and in front of you is the lifting triple screen that runs through the entire center console.
And when you understand that its central control system can not only gesture + voice control, but also face recognition and in-car photography, and even AR real-life navigation and night vision, you will understand that this 333,600 yuan range extender electric vehicle, although the price is not low, but it is indeed enough material.
In the intelligent cockpit evaluation link, we conducted detailed scoring for the four major sections of screen effect, vehicle performance, voice interaction, and intelligent advanced demand, and finally Landu FREE scored 80 points (out of 100), ranking 5 in the current ICT300 intelligent cockpit rankings, which performed well. In-vehicle systems are becoming more and more important to vehicles, and a set of feature-rich, interactive experience of the car machine system not only makes daily use of the car more comfortable, but also improve driving safety. Lantu performed well in terms of vehicle performance, and in this review, we will quantitatively score the fluency, UI design, feature richness, instrument feature richness, and scalability of its system.

Nowadays, other brands of car machines have appeared some more trendy features, such as car WeChat, car home interconnection, mini games, etc., which are still temporarily missing on Lantu FREE, and because they do not support the app store, they do not support the download of more third-party APP, which further limits its feature richness, and hopes that the follow-up OTA can keep up.

Extensibility of in-vehicle systems
The extensibility of the on-board system is reflected in two aspects, one is the expansion of app application stores, and the other is the expansion of mobile phone interconnection.
The Landu FREE car machine system does not support application stores, so there is no expansion ability in this regard. As for the mobile phone interconnection mapping, like most independent brand models, apple CarPlay is not supported, but it can support Huawei's HiCar wireless mapping, effectively solving the shortcomings of insufficient feature richness of car machines.

Voice interaction
Voice interaction is an important part of the degree of cockpit intelligence, and its semantic recognition ability, reaction speed, pickup accuracy, control authority, etc. all determine whether the whole system is intelligent enough. Landu FREE is equipped with a four-tone zone voice interaction system, which supports continuous dialogue, mid-way interruption, four-tone zone recognition, main driver's seat recognition locking and so on. So how does the car's voice system perform?
After practical testing, Lantu FREE's voice can control functions such as navigation, air conditioning, music and car windows, and supports wake-free, continuous dialogue, and partition pickup, which is better in terms of functional support performance.
Lantu FREE's recognition speed and response to the language order are relatively fast, in the face of non-standard Mandarin language orders, Landu FREE can only recognize the sentence "navigate to the Bund", and the rest of the instructions cannot be correctly recognized.
Lantu FREE recognizes the fuzzy language order well, I am hot and a little cold can correctly recognize the execution, and the navigation class fuzzy language order can also be correctly executed. Surprisingly, Landu FREE also supports cross-functional commands, the two commands included in "Turn down the temperature and open the passenger window" can be successfully executed, while "Turn down the temperature and navigate to Jing'an Temple" can only recognize the navigation command.
Intelligent advanced functions
After looking at the surface texture and internal functions of the car machine, we put forward higher level requirements for the smart cockpit, involving some functions that are more in-depth with the car life, such as remote control of the vehicle, personalized memory, online updates and interesting small functions.
Landu FREE supports seat memory, Face ID login, music rhythm atmosphere lights, multi-scenario mode, which creates a strong emotional atmosphere for the cockpit, and also supports online Singing K and selfies in the car, adding some fun. After binding through the mobile phone, it can remotely control the vehicle's door locks, air conditioning and other functions, as for the remote control parking is not currently supported, it is expected that the follow-up OTA can increase this function, and it is much more convenient when encountering narrow parking spaces.
Earlier, we have seen the performance of Lantu FREE in intelligent driving and intelligent cockpit in the ICT-300 intelligent car evaluation standard. Next, the car itself will be controlled by acceleration, braking, elk, piling and noise tests to see how it performs.

Summary of the performance section
Regarding the performance part, Landu FREE is an important product of Dongfeng Group to impact the high-end new energy vehicle market, and even directly compares the ideal ONE and NIO ES6. Taking the luxury route, it actually got a higher score in the performance test, of which the noise test can get a full score, followed by the acceleration and braking tests. However, the two extreme control events such as elk and piling are not manipulative players, so the scores are not high.
0-100km/h acceleration test
Landu FREE has two drive modes, range extender and pure electric, of which the range extender is equipped with a 1.5T in-line four-cylinder engine, with a maximum power of 80 kW (109PS), an AC asynchronous motor in front and rear, a maximum power of 510 kW (693PS), a peak torque of 1040 N·m, and an acceleration time of 0-100 km/h of 4.5 seconds.

The purpose of the elk test is to test the vehicle's ability to avoid danger, test the vehicle suspension and dynamic adjustment skills. In our elk test, the default electronic system state is turned on (not manually turned off ESP, etc.) to restore the daily car situation as much as possible.

Come to the interior noise test, the test is the vehicle's sound insulation ability. In addition to testing the in-car noise values under the traditional idle, 60km/h cruise, 90km/h cruising and 120km/h cruising states, the noise outside the car is also recorded and compared with the in-car noise values in the idle state.

In the end, Lando FREE scored 188 points, ranking 12th in the list. Lantu FREE, which defines itself as a smart car, has such a performance. The good places of Landu FREE are concentrated in the control and texture, excellent suspension performance and the texture of the inner cabin worth the return fare, which are the reasons why many friends choose Landu FREE. However, in the core competitive area of smart cars - intelligent driving and intelligent cockpit part, Landu FREE still has room for optimization, and hopes to upgrade again through OTA in the future.
As for the comparison of ideal ONE, in fact, they have no high or low to speak of. Deeply investigated, the two are not a range of models, the ideal ONE is more to please the whole family, many design and scene applications are bundled with the family. And Lantu FREE wants to please the driver more: excellent driving texture and power performance can meet your driving control needs.
