Cow King (She)
Once upon a time, cattle were grass officers in heaven. Every spring, in accordance with the will of the Jade Emperor, a grass seed was sown to the human world, so that it could grow into a fat grass and feed the livestock.
One spring, in the face of a severe drought, the grass seeds scattered by the cattle officials to the human world died, and the livestock starved to death because of the lack of grass. When the land lord saw this scene, he went to heaven to play the Jade Emperor and pleaded with him to sprinkle grass seeds on the human world again. The Jade Emperor said, "Sowing seeds to the human world once a year is a heavenly rule and must not be violated." Seeing that the Jade Emperor refused to be gracious, the land lord had to return to the human world in disappointment. Niu Guan was also uncomfortable, thinking: If you don't sow grass in the netherworld, the livestock will starve to death, and if you scatter grass for it, you don't have the will of the Jade Emperor, you want to violate the rules of heaven, and you feel embarrassed. At this time, a series of miserable cries came from the mortal world, and when it looked, it saw that the nether realm was a withered yellow, and many birds and beasts were starving to death, and some were half dead and half alive, falling to the ground and crying and crying. Niu Guan was very sad in his heart, and at night, he couldn't sleep after rolling over. Finally it ignored nothing, got up, and secretly sowed grass seeds into the world.
Not long after, grass grew all over the mountains, and the dying livestock came back to life, and niu Guan was very happy in his heart. However, it never imagined that it would steal grass seeds at night and could not see the field clearly, so it sprinkled a large number of grass seeds into the countryside, so that the fields were also densely packed with grass, causing the farmers to complain bitterly.
When the Jade Emperor learned of this, he was furious, accusing the cattle officer of offending the Heavenly Rules and disobeying his will, and issuing an edict to reduce it to the human world, forever ploughing the soil for people and removing weeds. The well-meaning cattle officer, unexpectedly broke into a catastrophe, was very aggrieved in his heart, and knelt down,
Bitterly begging the Jade Emperor for mercy. The gods of the same dynasty knew that Niu Guan had always been loyal to his duties, and this time he only made a mistake by accident, and they also went out of the temple to protect it, asking the Jade Emperor to leave it in the heavens to make meritorious deeds. The Jade Emperor drank: "Whoever dares to intercede is guilty of the same crime as the Niu Guan I*
For a moment, there was silence in the Spirit Hall. The Jade Emperor then ordered Erlang Shen to escort Niu Guan away. When he came to the South Heavenly Gate, Niu Guan begged the Erlang God to let him go home to visit the old mother. Erlang did not cling to the gods, and he sank his face, called out to the Heavenly Dog, and pounced on the niuguan. Niu Guan hurried to dodge, and before he could stand still, he was pushed down the South Heavenly Gate by the Erlang God.
When Niu Guan woke up in the human world, he found that his teeth on the page had all been knocked out. It is said that the upper tooth of the cow has not been eaten so far, and it was the one that fell.
Niu Guan worked hard for the farmers in the human world, and the She's family was deeply moved, and specially built a "Cow King Temple" for it and enshrined it as a god.
