He is Shabori. Shabori was born in New York in 1915. When he was a young man, coinciding with World War II, Shabori joined the U.S. Army and became an artilleryman.

At that time, out of consideration for the overall situation, the United States prepared to select some active military personnel to carry out Chinese language and Chinese culture education to support the Chinese battlefield. The excellent Shabori was quickly selected, and the process of learning Chinese history and culture left a deep imprint on his future life path.

At the end of World War II, Shabori returned to China, and because of his obsession with Chinese culture, he decided to enter Columbia University to study, focusing on Chinese history and culture.

In the process of studying, he was deeply attracted by the vast and profound Chinese culture. In 1946, he finally could not restrain his yearning for China, and regardless of his shyness, he decided to go to Chongyang to study in China.

After arriving in China, he only had $200 left in his empty pockets, and his survival became a problem for a while. Some friends advised him to return to China, but the troubled Shabori did not flinch, insisting on working and self-sufficiency while studying.

Fate is predestined. When he was studying in Shanghai, he met the drama actor Feng Fengzi, perhaps it was the fit of values, perhaps it was the attraction of appearance, the two people met and hated late, it seemed that there were endless words, and soon they fell in love. Feng Fengzi was already a well-known writer and drama performer at that time, and starred in famous dramas such as "Thunderstorm", and his wonderful performance was widely recognized. However, she did not stop proudly, but worked hard to study and was admitted to Fudan University for further study.

The love between Sha Boli and Feng Fengzi is not only a recognition of cultural learning, but also because they have a consistent outlook on life. As the two became more and more in contact, Sha Boli discovered another identity of Feng Fengzi, an underground member of our party.

At that time, it was the Chinese Civil War, and the concept of our party to serve all the people was also doubly admired by Shabori, who often used his American status to risk his life to cover the evacuation and treatment of our underground workers.

In 1948, the two finally achieved positive results and entered the palace of marriage hand in hand. With the founding of New China, Sha Boli is full of boundless enthusiasm for this hot land of China, and is also deeply pleased with the rapid changes in China. At the same time, a belief also lingered in his heart, "I want to contribute my strength to New China, I want to join the Chinese nationality"!

It was not until 1963, with the personal approval of Premier Zhou, that he finally got his wish and became a Chinese citizen. In 2011, the reporter interviewed ShaBori, who was over 90 years old, and when the reporter asked if he wanted to return to the roots, he said excitedly: "I have Chinese, China is my home!" In the same year, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Influencing The World's Chinese.
