Students at alma mater:
happy New Year! On this special occasion of greeting the old and welcoming the new, I am warm and happy to receive your letter from you in the distant space. Heartfelt thanks to the school leaders, teachers and students!
During my time on track, I missed the campus of Peking University. Through the school's homepage, WeChat and Weibo, I saw and was deeply encouraged by the attention and support of Peking University people for the aerospace industry of the motherland.
In 2021, I and astronauts Zhai Zhigang and Ye Guangfu carried out the Shenzhou 13 mission to witness this romance with the stars. We successfully performed on-orbit medical examinations, space tests, on-orbit training, the first space lecture of the "Tiangong Classroom" and two outgoing work on the space station. The starry sky is vast and bright, and we will explore more possibilities in the vast universe.
And I know very well that you on the earth are also seeking to realize your ideals and pursue the future of Peking University and your home country. From scientific breakthroughs to humanistic research, it is you who make Peking University "always new"!
2022 will be a year of hope. At this moment, the starry sky and the unnamed lake shine together; our love and attachment to Peking University and the motherland has never been a time difference.
The wonders of the universe, the eternity of the ages. All the crew members of the Shenzhou 13 astronauts are deeply proud of you, Peking University and the motherland, and extend their most sincere and ardent wishes.
I wish you all great achievements and academic success in 2022!
