In 1948, the Kuomintang Paratrooper Corps was once again expanded and upgraded to the Parachute Headquarters of the Kuomintang Air Force Headquarters, with 3 parachute regiment-level units and 4 battalion-level units under its jurisdiction. In June 1949, the Three Paratrooper Regiments were reorganized by the People's Liberation Army into the East China Parachute Training Corps, which was responsible for training the new Chinese paratroopers, which greatly promoted the rapid formation of the paratroopers of the People's Liberation Army and the rapid improvement of combat effectiveness, and laid a solid foundation for the establishment and development of the new Chinese paratroopers.
In 1950, the first paratrooper unit of the People's Liberation Army was established in Shanghai, and the name was the First Brigade of land warfare of the People's Liberation Army Air Force.
In September 1951, the 1st Platon Marine Brigade of the People's Liberation Army Air Force was expanded to the 1st Marine Division of the People's Liberation Army Air Force of the Chinese.
