傩, conceived in the Neolithic period, sprouted in the Xia Shang, formed in the Zhou, standardized in the "li". Derived from primitive expulsion spells and witchcraft, rooted in the fertile land of primitive cultures worshiped by nature, totems, ancestors and ghosts.

Chizhou puppet opera is an ancient folk art form with the "society" as the unit, the "clan" as the carrier, the purpose of driving away evil spirits and blessings, and the characteristics of "mask performance", which was once spread in Guichi, Dongzhi, Qingyang and Shitai counties (districts) in the foothills of Jiuhua Mountain.
