Afterwards, Hu Xiudao learned that in this battle, he alone annihilated more than 280 enemy troops, becoming a legend on the battlefield, and because of this incident, Hu Xiudao was honored by the volunteer army for special merit and was awarded the title of first-class combat hero, and at the same time, the DPRK also awarded him the National Flag Medal and the Golden Star Medal.
After returning to China, Hu Xiudao was also very important, and he became the deputy chief of staff of a group army of the People's Liberation Army, and returned to retire until his death in 2002, at the age of 71.
