The name Zhang Taofang may be unfamiliar to some people, but he is our "special hero" and "sniper hero". Zhang Taofang was born in 1931 in Xinghua, Jiangsu Province, where the old China was still invaded by Japan, so Zhang Taofang grew up in the war from an early age. In 1946, he joined the local children's group and had experience fighting the enemy at a very young age. One year, when a large army was passing by, Zhang Taofang joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
After enlisting in the army, he underwent three months of shooting training. At that time, no one thought about how powerful this young recruit would be in the future. In September of the following year, he joined the Volunteer Army and fought in Korea. At that time, his unit was the 214th Regiment of the 72nd Division of the 24th Army, and the garrison address was Wonsan, a place where Korean soldiers had to fight.

After the 12th Army and the 15th Army of the Volunteer Army won the Victory in the Battle of Shangganling, the area was still restless, and the "US Imperialist Forces" always wanted to fight back. Many people do not understand his battle in Korea. In 32 days, 436 bullets defeated 214 enemies, averaging 2 bullets to defeat one enemy. And, fighting him was the U.S. army. After the end of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Zhang Taofang did not give up studying, actively studied, and became the first generation of fighter aviators in the founding of New China. On the ground, he is the ace sniper. In the air, he was an elite aviator. From 1951 to 1985, he spent 34 years guarding the Chinese nation and the people.
On October 29, 2007, our hero, Zhang Taofang, died in Weifang, which is sad. But in our army building, there are also many heroes like Zhang Taofang.
