On January 5, at the CES 2022 show, Japanese technology company Sony Corporation released a new electric SUV concept car VISION-S 02. Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida also announced that he will establish Sony Mobile to commercialize Sony's electric vehicles.
In terms of appearance, the new car adopts a closed flat front face, with a penetrating LED daytime running light and a very personalized willow leaf modeling headlight, Sony's LOGO is cleverly set in the daily running light, improving the recognition of the vehicle. The rear part of the car also adopts a penetrating LED tail light group, and the rear part adopts the ducktail shape of the roof slip and the tail upturned, which reflects a good sense of layering.
In terms of size, it has not yet been announced, and the new car is expected to position a mid-size SUV, based on a new pure electric platform, with a wheelbase of more than 2900mm. The extra-long wheelbase, large side windows and glass roof give the interior a good sense of space.

Previously, Sony showed a video of the new car detection technology, including moving vehicles, objects, pedestrians on the road, etc., and the automatic driving and recognition solution used cmOS optical sensors, ToF fly time range sensors, LiDAR light reach, millimeter wave radar and other integrated sensing systems.
In the power system part, it is expected that the VISION-S sedan and vision-S 02 SUV will be equipped with dual motors in front and rear, with a maximum power of 400 kW and an acceleration time of 4.8 seconds per 100 km/h (VISION-S sedan).
