Archaeology shows that in ancient times, the southern part of Shanxi was the origin of the first dawn of mankind, and the discovery of the fossil of "Century Akebono" in Yuncheng, Shanxi, pushed forward the time of the appearance of apes by 10 million years. Dating back to the Xia Dynasty, its center of rule was in the area of present-day Jinnanxia County, Shanxi.

Lady Wei, courtesy name Shuo, was a famous female calligrapher of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. A native of Xia County, Shanxi. With Suo Jing, he was good at cursive writing, known as "one platform and two magic", and was said to be the teacher of Wang Xizhi.

Wei Wan, zi Bo Yu. A native of Xia County, Shanxi. From the late Cao Wei of the Three Kingdoms to the early years of the Western Jin Dynasty, he was a regent and calligrapher, and Wei Wanshan lishu and Zhang Cao were quite creative calligraphers. In the Tang Dynasty Zhang Huaihuan's "Book Break", he commented that his chapter grass was "divine product".

Sima Guang, the character Junshi, the trumpet. A native of Xia County, Shaanxi (present-day Xia County, Shanxi), he was known as Mr. Shushui. Northern Song Dynasty politician, historian, and writer. We are familiar with the "Sima Guang Smashing Cylinder" and the "Zizhi Tongjian", but its calligraphy is also quite good, unfortunately there are not many surviving.
