The Pillar Inscription is a handwritten work by Huang Tingjian, a famous calligrapher of the Northern Song Dynasty, one of the "Four Houses of the Song Dynasty", and is one of the most important calligraphy treasures scattered among the people. This hand-scroll is 11 meters long and the heart is 8 meters long, and the content is the "Pillar Inscription" written by Wei Zheng, the tang dynasty prime minister who was most respected by Huang Tingjian before his death, with a full text of more than 600 words.
The volume contains a large number of inscriptions and seals of collectors from the Song Dynasty Jia Xiangdao, Ming Dynasty Xiang Yuanbian and even the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.
Around 1095, Huang Tingjian copied Wei Zheng's "Pillar Inscription" of the Tang Dynasty with a book of lines, with a volume length of 8.24 meters, a text of 82 lines, plus the inscriptions of the past dynasties, with a total length of nearly 15 meters. Collected by Wang Houzhi, Jia Xiangdao, Xiang Yuanbian and others, the works have long been circulated in Chinese folklore, and in the first half of the 20th century, they flowed from Guangdong to Japan, where they were collected by neighboring museums in Japan until a few years ago, when they were purchased by Taiwanese collectors. On the evening of June 3, 2010, at the special night auction of Beijing Poly Spring Chinese Art Auction, the long calligraphy volume of "Pillar Inscription" started at 80 million yuan, and the initial bidding price increased by a million yuan, and after a rapid breakthrough of 100 million yuan, the bidding price began to rise at 2 million to 5 million yuan, and after breaking through 160 million yuan, the bidding began to be in units of 10 million yuan and quickly rose to 300 million yuan.
