Christie's Hong Kong spring auction will be held on May 25
Christie's Hong Kong will host a long-awaited Spring Auction of Magnificent Jewellery and Jadeite Jewellery at 14:00 on 25 May. The auction will feature more than 170 jewelry treasures, including delicate jadeite, brilliant colored and colorless diamonds, magnificent rubies, emeralds and sapphires, and stunning natural pearls.
The lead lot at this auction was a magnificent natural jadeite bead necklace: the necklace contained 33 natural top imperial green beads, so rare that it shows the domineering spirit of this treasure. Also not to be missed at auction is the 3.06 ct Fancy Vivid blue impeccable diamond ring by the famous British jewellery brand Moussaieff.
In addition, the auction featured a selection of colourful gemstones, including over 5 carats of Burmese "pigeon blood red" rubies, sapphires from Kashmir and Myanmar, and diamonds from Golconda.

Vincent Van Gogh's famous painting "Fields Near Alpiler" will be unveiled at Christie's "Evening Sale of Twentieth Century Art" on May 12 in Christie's New York. The painting, painted in November 1889, also bears witness to the sincere friendship between Van Gogh and his friend Joseph Rürin.
The Fields Near Alpile depicts a vast landscape of lush wheat fields, followed by rows of olive trees and the towering peaks of Alpil. The vast landscape is not only a classic subject of Van Gogh, but also reflects the avant-garde and expressive techniques that the artist began to use during his stay at the Sanatorium of Saint-Rémy from 1889 to 1890.
