The car has now passed an electric vehicle pilot program approved by the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission and will be Tesla's second yellow taxi in the city, the first being Tesla's Model 3. Gravity Mobility said that while the Tesla Model 3 was recently introduced as a New York yellow taxi, the newly invested Model Y could provide more space for passengers and luggage.
