During her long and remarkable life, Soong sometimes wore an apron and tried it out according to new recipes sent by foreign friends; when she was in Beijing, she would ask visiting foreign friends what they liked to eat, and then unexpectedly cooked herself to make some "home-cooked dishes" to entertain them. Song Qingling
Song Qingling was born in Shanghai into a family of pastors and industrialists. Her father, a friend and comrade of Sun Yat-sen, was her first enlightenment teacher. Later, she served as an assistant to Sun Yat-sen and began her 70-year revolutionary career.
