"Is Light Poetry" is Kunming Chenggong District is the Light Four Seasons Poetry Youth Service Center, co-founded by Kang Yu and co-founder Zhang Tiantian in 2018, is China's first and largest rural poetry education public welfare organization. In 2015, Kang Yu was about to graduate from the School of Economics of Chinese University, she gave up her graduate admission quota, and with her enthusiasm for public welfare, she resolutely went to the mountains of Yunnan and became a volunteer teacher at Changning County Yishui Middle School in Baoshan City.
In a calligraphy class, the sudden heavy rain attracted the attention of the children, and Kang Yu stopped teaching, took everyone to see the rain flowers, listen to the sound of the rain, and then wrote a small poem. As it was written, a girl in the corner of the classroom began to cry secretly, and Kang Yu saw the paper in her hand writing: I am a selfish child, I hope that the sun after the rain will shine only on me alone and warm me; I am a selfish child, I hope that there is a corner in the world that can be in my sad time and space; I am a selfish child, I hope that my mother's love belongs only to me...
Kang Yu realized that poetry can be a key to open up the world of children's emotional expression, and she began to try to open a poetry class, and the "Four Seasons Poetry Class" with the theme of natural time sequence was promoted throughout the school. With the progress of the poetry class, the School of Yishui has gradually changed, the naughty children no longer skip school, the grumpy children have reduced their discipline violations, and when teachers and students collect wind outdoors, the fields always echo with laughter.

After the end of the volunteer teaching, Kang Yu returned to dashan with the "Poetry of Light" and joined more rural schools and teachers to teach poetry lessons for the children. The place of poetry class is not fixed, except for the classroom, teachers and students will go to the fields, forests and rivers in the countryside to collect wind, observe the sunrise and moon, the change of the four seasons, and the natural things are the most important source of inspiration for the "little poets".
Through the online training course of "Poetry of Light", more than 1,400 teachers from rural areas across the country wrote poems with children in rural classrooms and fields, and their common vision is to use poetry to realize the free emotional expression of rural children. At present, "Poetry of Light" has covered 24 provinces, entered 1,200 rural primary and secondary schools, and brought the first poetry lesson of life to 116,000 children.
In May 2020, "Is Light Poetry" published its first poetry collection, "The Little Poet in the Mountains", which was selected as the sixth in the 2020 Douban Annual Literature (Chinese Literature) list.
