New energy vehicle subsidies have declined again this year, and the car market is now rushing to buy, and car prices are very entangled

Subsidies are going to be reduced again, there is still a shortage of parts, and before the end of the year, new energy vehicles are undergoing another test of subsidy decline. Recently, a number of new energy vehicle manufacturers in Shanghai revealed that after the subsidy declines, they may reduce the discount at the beginning of this year, or directly increase the price.

Subsidies are spurring consumers who plan to buy a car at the end of the year, with some car buyers rushing to buy cars in advance in December last year, and some waiting to see.

Subsidies for new energy vehicles will be further reduced next year

This year, new energy vehicles will usher in a new year of subsidy decline, and 2022 is likely to be the last year of new energy vehicle subsidies.

According to the "Notice on Improving the Financial Subsidy Policy for the Promotion and Application of New Energy Vehicles" jointly issued by the four ministries and commissions of the state in April 2020, the subsidy standards from 2020 to 2022 will be reduced by 10%, 20% and 30% respectively on the basis of the previous year.

According to this figure, the subsidy for pure electric vehicles with a range of more than 400km will be reduced by 5400 yuan in 2022; the subsidy for pure electric vehicles with a range of 300 to 400 kilometers will be reduced by 3900 yuan in 2022; and the subsidy amount of plug-in hybrid models (including range extenders) that meet the subsidy conditions will also be reduced by 2040 yuan. This means that next year, the battery life of pure electric models is less than 400km and greater than or equal to 300km subsidies of 0.91 million yuan, and greater than or equal to 400km is subsidized by 12,600 yuan; and the subsidy for plug-in hybrid models with pure electric mileage of more than 50km (NEDC endurance) is 0.476 million yuan.

It is worth mentioning that at present, the subsidies for new energy subsidies are mainly issued by the state finance to manufacturers ("national subsidies"), while the subsidies issued by local finances to distributors or consumers ("land subsidies") have long been cancelled.

I heard that the subsidy has been reduced, and many consumers who intend to buy new energy vehicles have started in advance. In the BYD 4S store, a car buyer told reporters that he had been looking at the car, but he was not sure that in early December last year, if the sales notice was not bought before the end of the year, it was likely that the price would rise because of the subsidy decline, so it was started at the beginning of the month.

New energy vehicle subsidies have declined again this year, and the car market is now rushing to buy, and car prices are very entangled

Many new energy vehicles have taken the lead in price increases

Affected by subsidies, the domestic car market at the end of the year is very lively, and some car dealers have taken the lead in raising prices.

Today, the relevant person in charge of Roewe 4S revealed that the sales of new energy vehicles increased by about 50% in December, and more than 30 stores in the city did not have existing cars. Bydir, Weilai and other stores also said that sales increased by 30-50% in December, and many models have no existing cars. In Beijing, some netizens revealed that consumers also bought the exhibition cars in the new energy vehicle store.

Under the influence of hot sales and subsidies, some models began to increase prices.

The first is Tesla. At the end of November last year, Tesla had raised the price of the rear-wheel drive version of the Model 3 and Model Y by 4,752 yuan according to the subsidy standards for 2022. Therefore, after the price increase, the Model 3 rear-wheel drive version is priced at 255,652 yuan, and the Model Y rear-wheel drive version is priced at 280,752 yuan, and the expected pick-up time is also adjusted to the first quarter of 2022.

Recently, WEIO announced that users who paid a deposit to buy ES8, ES6 and EC6 before December 31 last year and pre-31, 2022, can still enjoy subsidies in accordance with the 2021 national subsidy standard, that is, models equipped with standard battery packs (75kWh) and long-end battery packs (100kWh) models can still enjoy subsidies of 16,200 yuan and 18,000 yuan respectively. This means that consumers who buy cars next year are likely to face higher car prices.

New energy vehicle subsidies have declined again this year, and the car market is now rushing to buy, and car prices are very entangled

Since December 13 last year, the car purchase rights of Xiaopeng Automobile's three models have contracted to varying degrees, of which the P7 car purchase rights package has been reduced by 5,000-10,000 yuan, the P5 has been reduced by 4,000 yuan, and the G3i has been reduced by 5,000 yuan, and most models no longer enjoy 0 or low interest schemes. Industry insiders believe that in addition to supply chain constraints, the subsidy decline is an important reason for Xiaopeng to shrink its car purchase rights.

Nezha Automobile announced that the conditions of Nezha U's 5,000 yuan cash discount were also limited to December 28. Extreme Kr 001 also said that because this year's production capacity has been booked, customers have to buy according to the price after the subsidy decline in 2022, and the price has increased by more than 5400 yuan compared with before.

In the Volkswagen id's 4S store, a number of sales said that next year's new car subsidies will definitely be reduced, and the car price concession will also be reduced, but there is no specific policy at present.

There are also new energy vehicles that are reducing prices

However, there are also a number of new energy vehicles that are not worried about subsidies and choose to reduce prices.

Recently, the new Roewe RX5 MAX/eMAX was officially launched, of which the RX5 eMAX is priced in the range of 169,800-189,800 yuan. The price of the previous generation of this car was 195,800-235,800 yuan, which was raised by more than 26,000 yuan compared with the old model. Roewe related people said in an interview that although the subsidy has been withdrawn, the new energy vehicle market has developed rapidly in the past two years, and the scale benefits of batteries and other components have been more obvious, so price reduction is a normal trend, with the development of science and technology, the technology and cost performance of new energy vehicles will be improved.

In the case of shrinking subsidies, what is the price trend of new energy vehicles? Relevant analysts of the National Federation of Multipliers said that the price change of new energy vehicles in 2022 depends on the game of various factors, including battery supply, parts supply, subsidy decline, etc., as well as the integration policy, the cost reduction brought about by the scale effect, and the relationship between supply and demand. Overall, after the subsidy declines, the price of new energy vehicles in 2022 will "have a high probability of no significant increase", and in the long run, the decline in car prices is still worth looking forward to.
