As a subdivision with a small share in the huge automobile consumer market, MPV has long been in a "niche" positioning, and the attitude of automobile companies to MPV is tasteless and it is a pity to abandon it. This directly leads to the lack of interest in the development and production of MPVs by most automotive companies. Looking at the global home MPV market, there are only a few star models: Mercedes-Benz V-Class, Buick GL8, Toyota Senna, Chrysler Grand Jay Dragon, Honda Odyssey, Nissan Guishi.
In the Chinese market, Buick's localized MANUFACTURING GL8 has opened the initial cognitive door for domestic consumers to MPV, which is a blameless high-quality home MPV. But the unfortunate thing about the GL8 model is that it did not launch a hybrid, which discouraged household users who were relatively concerned about fuel consumption.
Hybrid MPV is one of the most suitable complete models for home use: large space, sufficient seats, long battery life, low fuel consumption, no pressure for family travel, and almost no shortcomings except that it cannot conquer too harsh road conditions. As the ceiling of the domestic gasoline-electric hybrid MPV, Guangqi Honda Odyssey has recently improved the texture of this model.
First of all, the on-board system was upgraded, using the Honda CONNECT 3.0 intelligent guidance interconnection system, adding wireless charging, SBW button electronic shifting, 10.1-inch DA central control screen, 7-inch TFT LCD instrument cluster and CTM rearview dynamic reminder system, etc., so that Odyssey can catch up with the pace of the era of smart cars.
Honda CONNECT 3.0 intelligent guide interconnection system can be combined with the "Guangqi Honda APP" to remotely confirm the condition of the car, and by pairing with Tmall Genie, it can remotely control the smart home at home. In terms of price, all Odyssey series are hybrid models, and the official price is 235,800 yuan to 328,800 yuan.
As one of the earliest joint venture MPVs to enter the Chinese market, in 2002, GUANGC Honda introduced the second generation of Odyssey into China, completed the replacement in 2005, completed the second generation in 2009, officially listed the fifth generation of Odyssey in 2014, launched the Odyssey Hybrid on the line in 2019, and completed the hybrid transformation of the whole series in 2020. So far, the owners of hybrid odyssey have accumulated more than 100,000 units.
