Wei Guoqing was born in Guangxi in 1913, and his family conditions were very poor when he was a child, just like countless poor families at that time, Wei Guoqing's family life was also extremely difficult. He first joined the Peasant Self-Defense Army, and a year later, in December 1929, the outbreak of the Baise Uprising prompted the Chinese Communist Party to quickly establish the Red Seventh Army, and Deng Xiaoping served as the political commissar of the Red Seventh Army, and Wei Guoqing was an ordinary soldier in the Red Seventh Army. By the time of the Long March, Wei Guoqing had become the battalion commander of the Special Branch Battalion. During this period, he made great contributions to the final victory of the Red Army's Long March, helping the team to defuse one danger after another.

In 1946, Chiang Kai-shek led the Kuomintang reactionaries to start a civil war and started a war of liberation.
