Wei Guoqing was born in Guangxi in 1913, and his family conditions were very poor when he was a child, just like countless poor families at that time, Wei Guoqing's family life was also extremely difficult. What makes the family even worse is that Wei Guoqing's father was brutally killed in the Great Revolution, which undoubtedly added fuel to the fire of the family, which was not rich in the first place. However, the young Wei Guoqing did not become depressed because of the changes in his family, on the contrary, Wei Guoqing was deeply influenced by revolutionary ideas when he grew up, and was determined to devote himself to the vigorous revolution. He wanted to make the disaster that happened to him as little as possible in this world.
In 1928, Wei Guoqing was only 16 years old, but the strong revolutionary enthusiasm that burst out of his heart urged him to join the ranks of the Red Army. He first joined the Peasant Self-Defense Army, and a year later, in December 1929, the outbreak of the Baise Uprising prompted the Chinese Communist Party to quickly establish the Red Seventh Army, and Deng Xiaoping served as the political commissar of the Red Seventh Army, and Wei Guoqing was an ordinary soldier in the Red Seventh Army. By the time of the Long March, Wei Guoqing had become the battalion commander of the Special Branch Battalion. During this period, he made great contributions to the final victory of the Red Army's Long March, helping the team to defuse one danger after another.
In 1946, Chiang Kai-shek led the Kuomintang reactionaries to start a civil war and started a war of liberation. During this period, Wei Guoqing, relying on his excellent strategic command ability and the spirit of struggle of not being afraid of sacrificing hardships and standing hard work, won one victory after another in the confrontation with the Kuomintang reactionaries again and again, and dealt a heavy blow to the morale of the Kuomintang reactionaries' army. In major wars such as annihilating Huang Wei's regiment and capturing Du Yuming alive, we can also see Wei Guoqing's figure today.
In 1950, vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh visited China, Mao Zedong cordially received the Vietnamese leader in Beijing, and in the process of talking with Mao Zedong, Ho Chi Minh proposed that he wanted China to send a military advisory group to help Vietnam win the victory in the war of national independence. Mao Zedong readily agreed to Ho Chi Minh's request and finally decided that Wei Guoqing would lead the delegation to leave. Moreover, before leaving, Mao Zedong also specially advised Wei Guoqing that after arriving in Vietnam, he must not become too emperor, do not have any big country thinking, and have good relations with the Vietnamese people's army. After Wei Guoqing arrived in Vietnam, he always kept Chairman Mao Zedong's instructions in mind, and on major issues, Wei Guoqing always put forward relevant suggestions and left the final decision to the Vietnamese people. In the end, it helped the Vietnamese people win the war of national independence.
Wei Guoqing was not only an excellent commander on the battlefield, but also a very upright person in his ordinary life. And it was under his influence that his son eventually became a pillar of help to the country. After graduation, his son entered the First Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security, became a very good engineering designer, and also participated in many major projects that are particularly famous in New China, such as the Great Hall of the People and the Capital Airport.
