Qingyang Cavity is one of the ancient opera genres in China, named because it originated in Qingyang County, Anhui Province. In ancient times, Qingyang County belonged to Chizhou Prefecture, also known as Chizhou Tune or Huichi Ya Tune.
On May 20, 2006, Qingyang Cavity was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.

The Qingyang Cavity was formed during the Ming Jiajing period, and the Wanli Calendar has produced a sensational effect in southern Anhui and spread inside and outside the province. On the basis of the local "Haiyou Four Out", Qingyang Cavity has absorbed the characteristics of Yuyao Cavity and Yiyang Cavity, and integrated with local folk arts such as Buddhist folk rap and folk song minor tunes in Jiuhua Mountain, "misusing the local language and integrating the local tune", smelted. It is listed alongside Kunqu opera as a "fashionable and elegant tune" of the Ming Dynasty. Construction of the Qingyang Cavity Museum began in 2016 and was completed and put into trial operation at the end of April 2018. The museum is located in the Qingyang County Cultural Center in the east of Furong Lake in Qingyang County, with a building area of about 3,000 square meters, which is the main position for the external publicity and display of the Qingyang Cavity of the national intangible cultural heritage project, and the main functional rooms are: Qingyang Cavity Exhibition Hall, Cultural Relics Documentation Room, Qingyang Cavity Teaching and Singing Room, and Small Theater.
The Qingyang Cavity Museum exhibits the research results of the Qingyang Cavity, the musical instrument props left over from the performances of the old artists, and the objects collected from the people. In the next step, Qingyang County will strengthen the construction of the Qingyang Cavity Museum and use this platform to better promote the inheritance, protection and development of the national intangible cultural heritage Qingyang Cavity.
