The old woman shared the meal with the broken settlement, and after many years, the broken settlement became the prince, with thousands of gold as a return

One of the "Three Masters of the Early Han Dynasty", Han Xinben, was born a commoner, with an indulgent and informal personality, and because he had no official, no knighthood, and did not engage in production, his life was extremely depressed. At first, Han Xin could still make a living by selling his property, but when the things in his home were sold out by him, he could only fall into the dilemma of "rubbing rice" for a living, and was repeatedly despised by the villagers ("When I started as a cloth, I was poor, I could not choose to be an official, and I could not rule the merchants. People often send food and drink from people, and people are tired of it. See Historia, vol. 92).

Han Xin was born a commoner and lived in poverty in his early years

At the beginning, the head of the Nanchang Pavilion in the countryside admired Han Xin because he saw his extraordinary appearance and had seen people, so he often beckoned him to eat at home. However, Han Xin went to the pavilion chief's house for several months to "rub rice", and after a long time, the wife of the pavilion chief was extremely disgusted. In order to drive Han Xin away, the wife of the chief of the pavilion cooked and ate every morning, and when Han Xin came according to the previous meal, she found that she had not left him any food.

Just as the so-called "people want faces and trees to bark", Although Han Xin was poor, he was not short-sighted, because he could not stand the humiliation of the pavilion chief's wife, he threw the door away in anger, and never came to the door again ("Constantly sent food from the Tingchang chief in the countryside, and for several months, the pavilion chief's wife suffered from it, and it was morning to drink and eat."). When eating, believe in it, not for food. The faith also knew its meaning, and the anger was extinguished. Ibid.).

Han Xin "rubbed rice" everywhere, causing the villagers to despise him

However, after all, ambition cannot replace the meal, and the problem of eating is still a big problem that plagues Han Xin. In order to get food, Han Xin often fished in the moat, and because he often could not catch fish, he was often hungry for Venus. One day, Han Xin was fishing in the river again, and his body was shaking because he was hungry and panicked. It so happened that this scene was seen by the old woman (i.e., the "drifting mother") who often washed her clothes by the river, and because she pitied him, she took out the food she had brought and gave him food, which was the case for dozens of days. It was because of these foods that Han Xin was lucky enough to avoid starvation.

When the rinsing work is over, the drifting mother will return to her hometown with her companions, and before leaving, she will take food to Han Xin for the last time and say goodbye to him. For the grace of the drifting mother's maintenance for dozens of days, Han Xin was grateful to Zero, so he swore to her: "When I Han Xin is rich, I must repay your old man's home heavily." Unexpectedly, the drifting mother was very angry after hearing it, so she counted him down and said, "The seven-foot boy in the hall can't support himself, is it not shameful to lose people?" The old man pitied you, the son, before giving you food to eat, where is the hope of getting your reward? After Han Xin heard this, he was very ashamed in his heart.

Letters fished under the city, and the mothers drifted, and one mother saw the letter of hunger, and the letter of food drifted for dozens of days. Xin Xi said to the drifting mother: "I will repay my mother with a heavy retribution." The mother was furious: "The eldest husband cannot eat himself, and I mourn the king and grandson and eat, and I hope to repay!" Ibid.

Han Xin swore to repay the drifting mother, but the latter counted him down

Since Han Xin had the talent of the heavens and the earth, coupled with a critical education from his drifting mother, he finally understood that he could not sit in the city of sorrow and live a life in the muddled chaos of Huaiyin, but should bravely go out and break out of a piece of his own sky. Therefore, a few years later, after Xiang Liang and Xiang Yu's uncle and nephew raised an army and crossed the Huai River, Han Xin joined the army with a sword, thus opening a vigorous and legendary "entrepreneurial road".

Although Han Xin served Xiang Liang's uncle and nephew for many years, it was a pity that the "pearl was secretly cast" and had no chance to display his talents at all, and he was still only a warrior (a court guard officer during the Qin and Han dynasties) for several years. Han Xin was not willing to bury his talent, so he switched to Liu Bang's camp, and after the strong recommendation of Xiao He of Xiangguo and the general Xiahou Bao, he was finally reused by Liu Bang and was appointed as a general.

At the recommendation of Xiao He, Han Xin became a general of the Han Army

During the Chu-Han War, Han Xin, as the commander of the Han army, first destroyed the Chu army between Jing and Suo, and then successively destroyed or conquered the Western Wei (Wei Leopard), Dai (Chen Yu), Zhao (Zhao Xie), Yan (Zang Di), Qi (Tian Guang) and other states, and participated in the final general battle of the Han army against the Chu army. In the process of Liu Bang's destruction of Xiang Yu, Han Xin experienced hundreds of battles, and had always used soldiers like gods, almost never defeated, so he was honored by later generations as the "God of War", and his fame could be compared with Wu Qi, Bai Qi and others.

After the establishment of the Han Dynasty, emperor Liu Bang, in view of Han Xin's great merits and heavy troops, deposed him as the King of Chu and made him the capital of Pi ("Xiang Yu has been broken, and Gao Zu has attacked and captured the Qi army.") In the first month of the fifth year of the Han Dynasty, the king of Qiqi was believed to be the king of Chu, and all of them were sent down. Ibid.), ruling over a large area including his hometown of Huaiyin. The poor boy who was once an unknown person is now a prince above ten thousand people, which is really too legendary.

Han Xin was made the King of Chu after the founding of the state

Not long after Han Xin became the Queen of Chu, he ordered someone to welcome Zhou Ji's drifting mother and reward her with a thousand catties of gold as a reward ("Letter to the country, summon the house to eat the drifting mother, and give her thousand gold.") Ibid.), this is the origin of the idiom "a meal for a thousand dollars". As the saying goes, "When you receive the grace of a dripping water, you should repay it with a gushing spring", judging from Han Xin's attitude towards the drifting mother, he can indeed be called a gentleman who knows the grace of the map.
