On the afternoon of December 7, 2021, at the mouth of the village in Jianli's hometown in Hubei Province, Sun Haiyang escorted Sun Zhuo out of the car, the crowd and camera flocked to it, and the dragon dance team that had been waiting for a long time rejoiced, and the celebratory firecrackers and fireworks sounded for nearly half an hour.

Sun Haiyang is one of the most famous fathers in the search for children, and his story was widely known by director Chen Kexin for the 2014 film "Dear". Sun Zhuo is the child he has lost for 14 years. More than a week ago, Sun Haiyang had just taken Sun Zhuo from this village in Jianli to Baishizhou in Shenzhen, and more than a week later, Sun Zhuo was abducted by human traffickers.

On December 6, Sun Zhuo met his parents in Shenzhen. The next day, the three of them took the high-speed train back to Jianli's hometown to visit Sun Zhuo's grandparents - after Sun Zhuo was abducted, the grandmother lived in Shenzhen for 10 years, hoping to wait until the whereabouts of the grandson.

The meeting did not come easily, and Sun Zhuo said in an interview before confessing his relatives: "Should not stay in (Shenzhen)", and worried about the disappointment of his biological parents.

Sun Haiyang and his wife put forward a request to return to Jianli together at the scene of the confession, "Grandma prepared a lot of bread waiting for you at home", and Sun Zhuo agreed.

At about 8:00 a.m. on the 7th, they embarked on the high-speed train back to their hometown. From Shenzhen to Jianli's hometown, it is necessary to transfer from Yueyang, Hunan, and it takes most of the day on the road.

Relatives and friends gathered on all sides waited at the entrance of the village early in the morning, and 20 tables of flowing water mats were set up in front of The Sun Family's door, and the guests waited until after lunch to wait for Sun Zhuo, who had been away for 14 years, and the bouquet dedicated to him read: "The people of Jianli welcome Sun Zhuo home."

"I've never seen such a grand scene." Sun Zhuo, who has lived in Shandong for a long time, can't understand the Jianli dialect very well, and when talking about his future plans, his answer is slightly different from that of his relatives: "Whether to go back or stay here, for a while and a half for me to make a decision, it is actually a little difficult for me, and I need to think about it again." ”

Wu Moulong used to start near the kindergarten.

On October 1, 2007, Sun Haiyang, from Hubei Province, saw a façade in Baishizhou, Shenzhen, and planned to rent it to open a bun shop. At that time, Baishizhou was known as the largest urban village in Shenzhen, and at its peak, 150,000 people lived on 0.6 square kilometers of land, most of whom were newly arrived in the deep drift.

Next door is the Shahe Kindergarten, which he wants to take his three-and-a-half-year-old son to the kindergarten.

The bun shop opened two days later, and after the National Day holiday, Sun Haiyang sent Sun Zhuo to Shahe Kindergarten as he wished.

On October 9, the day after Sun Zhuo went to kindergarten, Sun Haiyang got up at two o'clock in the morning to make buns, and he always remembers that more than 2,000 were sold that day.

In the evening, Sun Haiyang took a nap in the house, his wife Peng Siying cut onions and garlic in the back kitchen, and Sun Zhuo ran to a flower bed in front of the door to play.

Wu Moulong saw the opportunity and took out a toy car and placed it on the edge of the flower bed to attract Sun Zhuo. This Shandong Liaocheng man was the third oldest in his family and worked as a security guard in a nearby supermarket.

CCTV News quoted the police as saying: Wu Moulong found that Sun Haiyang's son Sun Zhuo often played alone on the side of the road, so he had the idea of abducting and selling Sun Zhuo.

Wu Moulong's second brother has never had a son, and the family without sons is known as a "no-goer" in Liaocheng, and many indications show that Wu Moulong was probably looking for boys for his second brother at that time.

On the sixth day after Sun Zhuo's disappearance, Sun Haiyang found that the convenience store on the corner had a camera aimed at the intersection. The picture showed that at 8:09 that night, a man wearing a white shirt and black trousers walked through the nearby street with a briefcase, and Sun Zhuo jumped behind him and turned left from the intersection.

In Baishizhou, which has 2,500 rental houses, there are more than ten intersections in a street less than one kilometer long, and no one knows where Wu Moulong will turn at the next intersection after turning left.

Sun Haiyang posted the notice of searching for a son in every street and alley he walked, and the news of Sun Zhuo's abduction became news.

More than two months later, on the evening of December 25, 2007, Peng Dongying, who lived in Shenzhen's Nanshan District, was watching TV at home. The first live column of Shenzhen Satellite TV broadcast the news of Sun Zhuo's abduction, and she quickly called her two sons to the TV set and taught them that "we must not lose it."

However, Wu Moulong has already set his sights on her child, and when committing the crime, he also changed his white shirt and black trousers into a security suit.

Peng Dongying's family lives in Shekou, 5.5 kilometers southwest of Baishizhou, next to Shenzhen No. 4 Kindergarten, where her youngest son, Fu Jiantao, attends. During that time, Wu Moulong would lead a puppy at the entrance of the kindergarten every day, waiting for the children after school.

Fu Jiantao recalled in a video interview at the scene of the confession that he liked to touch small animals at that time and gradually became familiar with Wu Moulong, who was wearing a security suit.

At about 8 o'clock on December 28, 2007, Fu Jiantao met Wu Moulong again downstairs at a friend's house. Fu Jiantao, who was only 4 years old at the time, still clearly remembers the scene after 14 years - Wu Moulong offered to take him outside to see more small yellow dogs, and after he agreed, Wu Moulong carried it on his shoulder and flipped out of the iron fence of the community. It was only three days since Peng Dongying warned his son that "you must not be lost".

Fu Jiantao has always kept in mind the process of being abducted— his current "adoptive father", Wu Moulong's second brother, who took him from Shenzhen back to Liaocheng, Shandong.

Fu Jiantao's astonishing memory makes it difficult for Wu Moulong to hide.

On September 18, 2021, the police found that a boy in Shandong was highly similar to Fu Jiantao through portrait comparison, and then the police of the special case team confirmed through DNA comparison that the boy was indeed Fu Jiantao, who was abducted in Shenzhen in 2007.

Fu Jiantao told the police a complete account of the abduction, clearly pointing out that the person who abducted him was now the "third uncle" Wu Moulong, and he also recognized the man in the white shirt at a glance when viewing the video of Sun Zhuo's abduction, who was also the "third uncle".

In fact, as early as the beginning of Sun Zhuo and Fu Jiantao's abduction, Sun Haiyang contacted Peng Dongying, and the time and region of the two children were very similar.

On November 11, 2021, Sun Haiyang, who learned that Fu Jiantao had been recovered, posted on Weibo, saying that the two abductions were "identified as the same gang of people committing the crimes that year" and suspected that Sun Zhuo had also been abducted to Liaocheng.

In recent years, cross-age face comparison technology has become increasingly prominent in the retrieval of abducted children – even children like Fu Jiantao, who clearly remember the abducted experience and try to find their biological parents, did not take the initiative to enter DNA data at the blood test site, but relied on face comparison to find clues.

An expert involved in the Ministry of Public Security's reunion operation matchmaking battle once told Southern Weekend that the amount of data processed by face comparison technology is much higher than that of DNA comparison, and the same picture of a child may compare hundreds of thousands of results, so other clues are needed to frame the scope of comparison.

Lu Baolei, a first-class police chief of the criminal investigation detachment of the Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau, who is responsible for investigating the case, said in an interview that in the past 14 years, Sun Zhuo and Fu Jiantao have been abducted and compared with hundreds of suspected children, and the police have traveled hundreds of thousands of kilometers for verification.

Fu Jiantao's appearance has defined the scope for the search for Sun Zhuo, and in October 2021, the Ministry of Public Security's Anti-Abduction Office compared a boy with a high degree similar to Sun Zhuo in Fu Jiantao's county.

On October 9, as in previous years, Sun Haiyang once again visited the area around Sun Zhuo's abducted Bun Shop – the largest urban village in the past, which is now to be demolished and unrecognizable.

Fu Jiantao, who was abducted at the same time, took the initiative to contact his mother Peng Dongying and met in Shenzhen during the National Day, and the cracking of the Fu case seemed to bring a glimmer of light to Sun Haiyang, who wrote on Weibo: "I have a premonition that I may be able to see my son soon." ”

After investigation, the special case team confirmed that Sun Zhuo and Fu Jiantao were indeed abducted by the same person, thus believing that Wu Moulong was suspected of a major crime of abducting and selling Sun Zhuo.

According to Zhu Jiang, deputy captain of a large team of the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau, after DNA comparison, it was confirmed that the suspected boy in Yanggu County, Liaocheng City, was indeed Sun Zhuo, the younger son of Sun Haiyang's family who had been searching for many years.

In the face of a sudden twist of fate, Sun Zhuo seemed overwhelmed, while Fu Jiantao, who was half a year older than him, was more relaxed.

Police often use excuses when checking suspected subjects.

According to Red Star News, citing sources familiar with the matter, when the police found Fu Jiantao, they wanted to collect his saliva under the pretext of influenza prevention, but Fu Jiantao said that he knew that he was not born to his parents, and guessed that the police were coming for their own life.

After the DNA comparison was successful, the police informed him that his original name was Fu Jiantao, and because he was young at the time of abduction, Fu Jiantao recorded his name as "Hu Jiantao".

For 14 years, her mother Peng Dongying has been using the screen name of "Looking for Fu Jiantao" to post messages about her relatives, and Fu Jiantao, who learned her name, easily found Peng Dongying's phone number on Weibo and took the initiative to call her.

In a private message on Weibo displayed by Peng Dongying, on September 26, Fu Jiantao, who had just received the exact information, sent a photo of himself today, saying that he had always missed his mother.

Peng Dongying recalled in an interview with cover news that on the same day, Fu Jiantao said to her on the phone: "National Day is about to be a holiday, you can come and see me." Since Peng Dongying could not leave Shenzhen at work, he booked a ticket for Fu Jiantao to return to Shenzhen.

At the same time, Sun Zhuo, who was found by the police, was caught in a dilemma.

"I can't say whether I should be happy or sad." In an interview before leaving for Shenzhen in early December, Sun Zhuo said he was currently living with his "adoptive parents" and had two married sisters.

"My sister and my mom look a lot like me, and I don't look like my mom." Sun Zhuo said that when he was a child, his eldest sister told him that he had picked it up, and he was still very angry at the time, "I later learned that this was true."

At the scene of the recognition on December 6, Sun Haiyang hugged his son and cried bitterly, and tried to pick up his son, who was already taller than himself, just like when his son was a child. One of his repeated sentences was: "We have really found the child, and we don't have to go outside to find the child anymore..."

On December 8, after a hurried trip home, Sun Haiyang and his wife escorted Sun Zhuo back to Liaocheng, Shandong Province, where Sun Zhuo was a senior in high school – after being abducted, Sun Zhuo's date of birth, which was originally born in 2003, was changed to 2005. Sun Haiyang said he would respect the child's choice.

The day before, Fu Jiantao also returned to Liaocheng from Shenzhen, and in half a year he will take the college entrance examination, and he plans to enter a university in Guangdong Province and spend more time with his biological parents.

Sun Zhuo was still hesitating about "where to go" in the future, and Fu Jiantao proposed that he hoped that his biological parents could issue a letter of understanding to the "adoptive parents".

According to the live broadcast of the confessed relatives, the two buyer families in this case are related to the abductors of children, and among the two pairs of "adoptive parents", Fu Jiantao's "adoptive parents" and Sun Zhuo's "adoptive mother" have been released on guarantee pending trial, and only Sun Zhuo's "adoptive father" has not been taken measures due to serious illness.

In previous jurisprudence, child traffickers have been sentenced to death or life imprisonment after being caught, while families who buy children have rarely been punished.

In July 2021, Guo Gangtang, the prototype of the father in the movie "Lost Alone", chose to forgive the "adoptive parents" after successfully searching for a child, respected the child's desire to live in the location of the buyer's family, and moved around the buyer's family as a relative.

But this time, Peng Dongying said that she would not issue a letter of understanding, she said in an interview with CCTV News: "We must let the adoptive family know the consequences of buying and selling children", "It is not that I asked you to help raise them, or the children are lost, you help raise them, but stole my children."

The police report showed that after the criminal suspect Wu Moulong abducted Sun Zhuo, he briefly hid Sun Zhuo in the home of one of Wu Moulong's nephews in Dongguan. Wu Moulong has been arrested by the court, while his nephew is still under arrest.

Du Xiaohua, a native of Shangrao, Jiangxi, who had been looking for a son with Sun Haiyang, also rushed to Jianli to congratulate him and hoped to receive more attention. Du Xiaohua was one of the four families of abducted children, and his son Du Houqi was lost in Inner Mongolia in 2011, and now he is the only one in the four families who has not yet found a child.

Swallow, a non-governmental volunteer on the public welfare website that has docked with Sun Haiyang's case, told Southern Weekend reporters, "I don't know the overall data of the country, but on our website alone, a total of more than 100,000 families and abducted children are still registered, and they are still insisting on finding their close relatives." ”
