【Village Origin】The village was built around the Yuan Dynasty. According to Kao, the surname Kang had already lived here before the Ming Dynasty, and was named "Kangjiazhuang" after the surname. The Xiao surname moved in during the reign of Qing Shunzhi (1644-1661). Later, the cottages were built on the side of the street and were once called "half of the shop". There is a cooper plant in the southeast of the village. The diameter of the tree is more than four feet, the canopy is luxuriant, the Ming Dynasty village is called "cypress tree", and the "Boshan County Chronicle" of the eighteenth year of the Qianlong Dynasty (1753) is called "cypress tree". At the end of the Qing Dynasty, it was called "cypress tree head". In the second year of the Qing Dynasty (1910), the "Chronicle of Boshan County" is called "Cypress Tree Head". During the Republic of China, it was renamed "Cypress Tree".
【Historical Story】 Liberation of cypress heads
In the spring of 1943, Brigadier Liao Rongbiao instructed us to 3 battalions of the 10th Regiment to uproot the cypress head puppet stronghold to ensure the connection between The Taishan District and the Ren River Valley and the Yishan Area. The cypress head puppet stronghold was placed by the three departments of the Taihe puppet army Tang Yun when the Japanese Kou "swept up" in 1941, when there was a puppet army brigade with about 200 people. After occupying the cypress head, this force often cooperated with the Japanese Kou in "sweeping" Ezhuang, Shimudi, Dongdaoping, and Xidaoping to undermine the local political power in these areas. In the south, the area around Tuquan and Xiangquan was also occupied by diehards. In this way, in the areas of Duanshi, Ezhuang, and Dongyu, there are only so-called "one shot can penetrate" base areas that are less than a mile wide. In order to ensure safety, the enemies of Cypress Head built bunkers on the hills on the east and west sides of the village, stationed in a squad each, both as sentries and at the same time.
Since I was a local, my family lived in Liuhua Village, and I was familiar with this area, so the commander of Wang Fashan sent me to investigate the enemy situation.
After accepting the task, I first went to the house of my uncle Li Yingshen in ten acres of land and asked him for help. I changed into the thrashed clothes of the peasants at my brother-in-law's house, took on the burden of my brother-in-law's business, and set out with my brother-in-law to the head of the cypress tree. One end of the burden was filled with soy sauce and vinegar, and the other end was filled with tattered groceries and moldy peanuts. Because I am a local, and I am active in the "no man's land", life is hard, yellow and thin, with torn clothes and small groceries, the local accent has not changed, and it is quite like a local small businessman. I walked in front, my brother-in-law followed behind with a small broken money partner, and we soon arrived at Cypress Head Village. At the head of the village, there is a large bare locust tree, and under the tree is a place where pedestrians rest. Here we met two enemy sentries with live ammunition, who interrogated us and asked in a loud voice, "Where did they come from?" "What's it for?" The brother-in-law replied while handing them the letter of certification issued by the chief of staff. At this time, it just so happened that the son-in-law of Xiao Yingtan, the younger brother of my eldest sister in Cypress Head Village, came to the front. His nickname is An Wenzi, and he is also familiar with my brother-in-law. He recognized me at a glance and blurted out, "This is not..." At this time, the enemy's artillery tower on the east hill of the village had been taken by the Ninth Company, and in order to quickly solve the battle in the village, we decided to attack with fire because there was no explosives.
In front of the small building is a yard, and the houses on both sides are about 30 meters away from the building door. We set up machine guns on the opposite side of the building, blocked the windows and doorways of the building, and then, from the houses on both sides, threw a pile of firewood, sorghum straw, etc. into the courtyard, lit a fire, and then constantly threw all the things that could be found that were on fire to the fire and the door of the building. The fire gradually burned from the courtyard to the door of the building, and the enemy was so frightened that some were so stupid that they tried to put out the fire by skimming the urine, only to be knocked down by our machine guns. The door of the building caught fire, and the smoke inside the building became thicker and thicker, causing the enemy to cry and cough. When the door of the building burned down and fell inward, the enemy knew that he could no longer hold on, so he shouted to surrender his gun. We ordered the enemy to go downstairs and gather in the courtyard, capturing more than 150 enemy prisoners, surrendering more than 150 guns, and a shell gun of the enemy captain.
At this time, the sky was almost dawn, and the enemy captain saw our youth squad soldiers and said, "I didn't expect such a young child to be so brave when he started fighting." In this battle, we suffered five or six casualties, and successfully uprooted the cypress head, a relatively large enemy stronghold.
