According to reports, these 5 works of Xu Beihong are attached to the handwriting of Xu Beihong's wife Liao Jingwen as authenticity. Industry insiders believe that these 5 works of Xu Beihong should be the items involved in the case.

Master Xu Beihong is famous for painting horses, and 4 of the 5 works in this auction are horse-themed, namely "Li Ma Tu" starting price of 1.5 million yuan, "Double Horse Figure" starting price of 2 million yuan, "Red Leaf Double Horse Figure" starting price of 1.5 million yuan, "Willow Tree Double Horse Figure" starting price of 2 million yuan, in addition to a "Willow Magpie Map" starting price of 1 million yuan, the total starting price of 8 million yuan.

Liao Jingwen (April 1923 – June 16, 2015), in the 1940s, was engaged to Xu Beihong in Guiyang. At that time, Liao Jingwen was 20 years old and Xu Beihong was 48 years old.
The two married in 1945, and Liao Jingwen assisted Xu Beihong in his work and took care of his life until Xu Beihong's sudden cerebral hemorrhage died in 1953.
Liao Jingwen was the director of Xu Beihong Memorial Hall, the honorary president of Xu Beihong Painting Academy, the chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, and the honorary dean of Xu Beihong Art College of Shanghai Maritime University.
