In order to allow students to learn the scientific knowledge of disaster prevention and mitigation more intuitively, the activity specially invited young volunteers from the Red Cross Society of Xigu District and the Lanzhou Petrochemical Hazardous Chemicals Emergency Rescue Team to explain the basic knowledge of disaster prevention and mitigation to the students of the third primary school of welfare, and demonstrated the use of fire extinguishers, Heimlich first aid, and safety knot demonstrations. Subsequently, the first and second grade students were organized to participate in the experience games of disaster reduction and prevention flying chess, fire scenes, and traffic scenes, and the third and fourth grade students were organized to participate in the basic knot competition, which enabled the students to quickly master the skills of knowing danger and avoiding danger in an entertaining way.
"The emergency knowledge explained by the teachers was very practical and benefited us a lot, not only learning about disaster prevention and mitigation, but also mastering the skills of self-rescue and mutual rescue," said a student from Year 2 and Class 3.
This activity effectively cultivated the thinking and behavior habits of teachers and students in dealing with disasters, improved the basic skills of disaster response, and enhanced the emergency response ability of teachers and students.
