I Lost My Body is a French surrealist animated film that was released at the Cannes Film Festival on May 17, 2019. Soon after its release, it won the 85th New York Film Critics Association Awards for Best Animated Film and the 47th American Animation Annie Awards (Film) for Best Independent Animated Feature, Best Animated Screenplay, best animated music and many other awards.
From the name, it is not difficult to understand that the protagonist of this movie is not "I" in the traditional sense, but because of the accidental loss of the body of the "broken hand".
The film mainly tells the story of a severed hand escaping from a laboratory in Paris, and finally finding its body after experiencing difficulties and obstacles, a man named Laufer. In the process of finding the body, the broken hand recalls his childhood life with the body again and again, and in this memory there are also his loving parents, sunshine and sand, joy and laughter, and his dreams.
