CAAM: Chinese brand passenger car sales in March 904,000 units up 42.1% month-on-month

Zhitong Finance APP learned that according to the statistical analysis of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in March 2022, the performance of Chinese brand passenger cars was significantly better than that of the market, and sales volume showed rapid growth month-on-month and year-on-year. In March 2022, Chinese brand passenger car sales were 904,000 units, up 42.1% month-on-month and 21.5% year-on-year, accounting for 48.5% of total passenger car sales, and the share was 5.8 percentage points higher than the previous month and 8.8 percentage points higher than the same period last year.

From January to March 2022, Chinese brand passenger cars sold a total of 2.547 million units, an increase of 21.0% year-on-year, accounting for 45.9% of total passenger car sales, and the share increased by 4.6 percentage points over the same period last year.

In March 2022, the market share of Chinese brand cars, SUVs and MPVs was 38.2%, 55.1% and 61.1% respectively, compared with the previous month, the market share of Chinese brand cars, SUVs and MPVs showed growth, of which chinese brand MPV growth was more obvious; compared with the same period last year, the market share of Chinese brand cars and SUVs increased, and Chinese brand MPV still declined.

From January to March 2022, the market share of Chinese brand cars, SUVs and MPVs was 35.7%, 53.4% and 54.1% respectively, compared with the same period last year, the market share of Chinese brand cars and SUVs showed growth, and the decline in MPV was still obvious.
