Previously, due to the impact of the epidemic, China FAW Group was forced to suspend production at five major vehicle plants in Changchun, including FAW Toyota and FAW-Volkswagen, in March. As a national enterprise, in order to support the prevention and control of the epidemic, China FAW donated a total of 80 million yuan in cash with its brands such as Hongqi, FAW Jiefang, FAW Besturn, FAW-Volkswagen, and FAW Toyota.
Of course, the suspension of production has significantly affected the sales of China FAW's brands. According to relevant data released by the Accuba Association, faw-Volkswagen's wholesale volume of narrow passenger cars in March was 122,000 units, down 43.1% year-on-year. It is hoped that the situation will improve after the orderly resumption of work.
Not only FAW Group, but also many brands of vehicle production and parts supply have been seriously affected, including a significant decline in the production capacity of SAIC Group (Volkswagen, GM, SAIC, etc.); the explicit suspension of production Tesla's Shanghai factory has not resumed work; Weilai Automobile has also temporarily stopped production due to supply chain ruptures... The decline in the production capacity of many brands is also huge, and it is inevitable for consumers to extend the car pick-up cycle.
