China FAW's "cross-border" out of the circle innovation to help the Beijing Winter Olympics

The Winter Olympics are in Beijing, experience in Jilin, and enjoy in Changchun. China FAW Group has helped the rapid development of China's ice and snow industry with scientific and technological innovation. On September 10, 2021, at the Beijing Capital Gymnasium, the first domestic snowmobile jointly developed and manufactured by China FAW and China Aerospace Science and Technology Group was delivered to the State General Administration of Sport as scheduled, achieving a "breakthrough of zero" for domestic snowmobiles and breaking the long-standing foreign technology monopoly.

Research and development of domestic independent snowmobiles, China FAW is faced with almost zero data accumulation, the R & D team first from the understanding of the use of snowmobiles, structural engineers, performance engineers and more than 20 Chinese snow team coaches, athletes conducted 11 special interviews, through combing the use of scenarios divided into 3 scenes and 10 sub-scenarios, and finally decomposed out 46 functional needs and 26 performance requirements list, the formation of a preliminary understanding of the snowmobile.

In order to successfully complete the R&D task, China FAW set up a special project work class to build a clear and clear responsibility system, and decomposed into departments, specific to the field, implementation to the profession, and quantification to the individual at the key milestone nodes. In order to optimize the mechanism to advance rapidly, China FAW and China Aerospace Science and Technology jointly organized the establishment of an innovation consortium, established a normal communication mechanism for technical exchange, information sharing, project promotion, and problem solving, and overcome a series of problems such as ergonomic optimization, platform key system and parts design, material lightweighting, CAE simulation simulation, high-precision machining technology, vehicle trial production test system, etc., applied for more than 80 patents, and realized the formal establishment of the project on March 20, and the layout plan was frozen on May 20. On June 10, the design plan was frozen, the assembly was completed on August 15, the prototype was successfully delivered on September 10, and the official certification of the International Snow Union snowmobile was launched, bringing a domestic snowmobile with low wind resistance, high reliability and easy handling for The Chinese national snow team and snowmobile athletes. At the same time, China FAW was also awarded the honorary title of "China Ice and Snow Science and Technology Joint Research Unit" by the State General Administration of Sport.
