Over the years, a large number of department-level cadres have emerged in China's table tennis industry. Among them, there are early world champions in Chinese sports Wang Chuanyao, Zhang Xielin, Wang Jiasheng, Liang Lizhen, etc., Deng Yaping, Qiao Yunping, Lv Lin, etc. who were the trendsetters in the world in the 80s and 90s, and Wang Nan, a popular national player at the beginning of this century. Most of them are still in the sports industry when they are in politics, such as Wang Chuanyao who served as leaders in the personnel and supervision departments of the former National Sports Commission before his retirement, and Zhang Xielin and Lu Yuansheng successively served as deputy directors of the Table Tennis and Badminton Sports Management Center of the State General Administration of Sports. Unlike their predecessors, Deng Yaping, Wang Nan and Lv Lin all served as department-level cadres in the non-sports system.
