The new car will be launched within the year and officially delivered in December, and the future electric vehicle family of the smart brand will also follow a new naming system with "#" and numbers as the core elements.

Smart Genie #1 is positioned as a small SUV, designed by Mercedes-Benz, and R&D by Geely, and produced at the Xi'an factory. The new car is built on the SEA's vast architecture, which is the same as the Krypton 001, and the medium and large vehicles and small SUVs can share the architecture, which also reflects the high compatibility of the SEA.
On the Krypton 001, we see highlights such as 800V high-voltage systems, high-performance/high integrated computing power, support for vehicle FOTA upgrades, and fully autonomous driving levels, which will also benefit Smart Genie #1.
The new car has a length, width and height of 4270/1822/1636mm, and a wheelbase of 2750mm, which is smaller than Honda Binzhi, but because the wheelbase is longer than the same class, the rear space performance is superior. However, the tail box space is not large, the volume is only 411L, the maximum is 986L after the reclining seat, and the front trunk is 15L.
Smart Genie #1 is different from the smart in everyone's impression, it seems that in addition to the name, the overall design is not "smart" at all, and the appearance and interior of the new car are highly consistent with the concept car.
Judging from the front and rear triangle through headlights and rounded body shape, the smart genie #1 does have some taste of the Mercedes EQ family. The front face also adds air intakes on both sides compared to the concept car, which will be the design language of the smart family later.
The short body on the side regains the smart fortow's agility, the two-tone suspension roof design, the C-pillar and the smart brand LOGO. Smart Genie #1 has frameless doors, concealed door handles and closed wheels for added to the car's refined feel, with tire sizes of 235/45 R19.
The same degree of refinement of the interior is not to be doubted that this is from the Mercedes-Benz design, the T-type center console is more conventional, but the details are worth exploring, and the storage space is also relatively rich.
The floating LCD screen is 12.8 inches, has a resolution of 1920x1080, and is equipped with 12G storage and 128G storage. The steering wheel continues the retro design of the concept car, with a 9.2-inch slim LCD instrument and a HUD head-up display in front.
In terms of configuration, smart genie #1 has matrix headlights, beats sound, panoramic sunroof and so on. The car is equipped with a "smart universe" human-computer interaction system, and the smart Pilot assisted driving system can support intelligent parking assistance, adaptive cruise, pilot assistance, lane keeping, emergency avoidance and other functions, reaching L2 level automatic driving.
In terms of power, the smart genie #1 is equipped with a rear-drive motor, the maximum power reaches 272Ps, the peak torque is 343 Nm, the acceleration time of 0-100km/h is 6.7 seconds, and the maximum speed can reach 180km/h.
The wind resistance coefficient of the new car is 0.29Cd, equipped with a ternary lithium battery with a capacity of 66kWh, under 7.2kW AC slow charge, 10%-80% charging takes 3.5 hours, using 150kW DC fast charging, the fastest 30 minutes can complete 5-80% of the battery capacity recharge. The CRUIC has a cruising range of 560 km for CLTC conditions.
From the design and configuration of Smart Genie #1, it can be seen that the new car takes the route of a petty boutique car. Previously, it was reported that its price would be around 200,000, so the most direct competitors would be MINI pure electricity, Volkswagen ID.3, DS 3 Crossback E-Tense.
