After a brief downturn in February, the delivery volume of new car-making forces rebounded collectively in March, with 4 of the 5 brands delivering more than 10,000 vehicles a month, and although Weilai did not break through 10,000, its delivery in the month was also very close to the level of 10,000 vehicles. Judging from this situation, at the beginning of this year, the new power brand has raised the monthly delivery threshold to 10,000 vehicles.
Judging from the cumulative delivery in the first quarter, Xiaopeng has taken the lead in locking in the first position of the new forces to deliver, followed by Ideal and Nezha, and the cumulative delivery volume of these three brands in the first quarter exceeded 30,000 vehicles. Nio has slipped from the top of last year's list to fourth, and Zero Run, with a record high in March, delivered more than 20,000 vehicles in the first quarter.
The pattern of "small reason" has begun to appear
Not surprisingly, Xiaopeng Motors regained the monthly delivery championship in March. Before the release of deliveries, Xiaopeng Automobile founder He Xiaopeng had revealed in the earnings meeting that in late February and early March this year, Xiaopeng's new orders quickly returned to the peak season level in December last year, although the epidemic affected the delivery rhythm in some regions, but the March delivery volume was still close to last year's peak level.
According to the data, Xiaopeng's deliveries in March rebounded sharply from the previous month to 15,414 vehicles, an increase of 202% year-on-year. As can be seen from the figure, Xiaopeng's March delivery volume is indeed close to the peak level of November and December last year.
In terms of specific models, the delivery volume of Xiaopeng P7 exceeded 9,000 for the first time in March, reaching 9183 units, the P5 delivered 4398 vehicles in the same month, and the G3 series delivered 1833 vehicles. In this way, the P7 is still the absolute main force of Xiaopeng Motors.
In 2021, the delivery volume of Xiaopeng P7 exceeded 60,000 units, the first delivery among the pure electric models of the new forces. According to Xiaopeng Automobile's high hopes for the P7, the P7 will hit more than 10,000 vehicles in a single month within this year. The P5 officially began delivery in the fourth quarter of 2021, and with the improvement of the supply chain and the launch of the urban NGP, the monthly sales of the P5 will gradually approach the P7 in the second half of the year.
After Xiaopeng, the second most delivered in March was Nezha Automobile. Nezha's March deliveries hit a record monthly high, surpassing the peak delivery at the end of last year, reaching 12,026 vehicles, an increase of 270% year-on-year.
In terms of specific models, the Nezha V series delivered 8122 vehicles in March, an increase of 153% year-on-year, and is expected to win the championship in pure electric SUV sales for 6 consecutive months; Nezha U Pro delivered 3904 vehicles, an increase of 9660% year-on-year, and is expected to be the third place in pure electric SUV sales of new car manufacturing forces for 4 consecutive months. Some people believe that the main reason why Nezha automobile delivery volume can continue to rise is cost performance, Nezha Automobile CEO Daniel Zhang previously said that 60,000 to 80,000, 100,000 to 150,000 pure electric SUVs (market), Nezha has achieved the first cost performance.
The new forces that have recently "wrestled" with Nezha Automobile in terms of delivery volume are ideal. In March, ideal car deliveries were 11,034 units, up 125.2% year-on-year. Single-month deliveries have repeatedly exceeded 10,000, which once again shows the strong product strength of ideal ONE.
In fact, Ideal has faced delivery challenges since 2022. First, in January and February, it was affected by the shortage of parts supply from Bosch, and then it was affected by the epidemic in the Yangtze River Delta, and the shortage of some parts and components affected production. In this regard, Shen Yanan, co-founder and president of Ideal Auto, said that the company is taking more measures to ensure the supply of parts, ensure production as much as possible, and shorten the waiting period for booking ideal ONE users to pick up the car.
Judging from the cumulative delivery volume of the above three companies in the first quarter, Xiaopeng, Nezha and Ideal delivery have exceeded 30,000 vehicles, of which Xiaopeng has expanded its leading edge with products and diversified sales channels. In addition, the pattern change of the top three new forces in the delivery of "Xiao Ne Li" has appeared in the fourth quarter of last year, and at present, the new power pattern of "Xiao Ne Li" has gradually taken shape.
Zero run broke through 10,000, Weilai "bottom"
The biggest highlight of the delivery of new forces in March is that it is zero running and breaking through ten thousand and Weilai "bottom". The data shows that the delivery volume of zero-run in March reached 10,059 vehicles, an increase of 193% month-on-month and an increase of more than 200% year-on-year.
As can be seen from the figure, the zero run is very significant compared with the same period last year, and the month-on-month increase in March is very obvious. Unlike last year, the zero-run C11 delivery in March this year is gradually improving. According to the information disclosed in the prospectus of Zero Run, as of the end of 2021, Zero Run had a total of 22536 C11 orders, of which 3965 were delivered that year, which means that zero run C11 currently has at least more than 20,000 undelivered.
At the same time, the market performance of zero-run T03 is not inferior, and the data of the Association of Automobile Associations shows that the cumulative sales of zero-run T03 in the first two months of this year were 7914 vehicles, an increase of 294.1% year-on-year. Based on the gradual increase in the number of two models, Zero Run has also recently increased the production capacity of the factory, and it is reported that by adjusting the production line, the production capacity of the Zero Run Jinhua Factory exceeded 10,000 vehicles in March, while before, the monthly production capacity of Zero Run was only about 60% of the current one.
Weilai's deliveries in March were overtaken by zero runs, and it was "at the bottom" in the delivery rankings of new forces that month. According to the data, WEILAI delivered 9985 vehicles in March, close to 10,000 vehicles, an increase of 37.6% year-on-year. NIO has not announced the specific delivery of the three SUVs, but the first sedan, the ET7, has been delivered on March 28, and 163 units have been delivered as of March 31.
In fact, it is not surprising that Weilai's monthly delivery volume is at the level of 10,000 vehicles. On the one hand, NIO was in the new product window period last year, and its current average price of models on sale was the highest among the new forces; in addition, it was not unrelated to the pace of its new product launch this year. As early as the end of last year, NIO DAY, Weilai opened the pre-sale of ET7 and ET5, which does not rule out the possibility of Weilai users transferring orders and waiting for new products. Li Bin, founder of Weilai Automobile, said in the recent earnings meeting that ET7 has now received more than 15,000 orders, which means that users are still looking forward to Weilai's new models.
With the opening of the ET7 delivery, NIO's product year this year will begin. In addition to the 2022 RY ES8, ES6, and EC6 RY 2022 models to be released in May, NIO will also deliver two other products based on the NT2.0 platform, ET5 and ES7, within the year. At that time, with the matrix of 6 models, it is very likely that NIO's delivery volume will return to the top of the list of new forces.
Not only Weilai, this year's Ideal Car will also release the flagship SUV Ideal L9 on April 16, Xiaopeng's first large SUV G9 will also be listed in the third quarter, and Nezha Car's long-warmed Nezha S will be listed within the year. In addition to products, the price of new energy models in the first quarter of this year has generally increased, and from the perspective of the delivery cycle of car companies, the market fluctuations after the price increase of new energy models may be slowed down for another month or two to appear, so the delivery of follow-up new forces and changes in the pattern will be more interesting.
