EQS is the most expensive and luxurious brand large-scale pure electric car you can buy in China, and it is also the only large pure electric car on the market that can be called "executive-level luxury car". Putting aside the price of 107 to 1.51 million yuan, EQS appears in the million-level market like a novelty species, and for consumers at this level, it is often those unique and novel products that arouse interest.

Even if I haven't driven a lot of new energy vehicles, it's clear that this car is unique in terms of driving experience. Perhaps, this is the "power of money" - EQS has the most delicate and textured comprehensive performance of the new energy models on the market. From suspension response, power curve to steering feel, EQS is setting a new standard for million-level new energy vehicles.
However, in my opinion, it may not be the best S, at least in the interior texture and atmosphere - EQS compared with the regular S-Class sedan, technology luxury in the face of traditional elegant luxury, the texture atmosphere is atmospheric and not domineering enough, less than a million-dollar luxury car king style.
EQS makes the design of new energy vehicles more stylish
One of the most controversial aspects of EQS is its shape design. After all, we have long been accustomed to traditional large luxury cars like the S-Class, such as the slender body waistline, such as the perfect proportion of the carriage to the body. As an electric vehicle, the shape design of EQS is more around the "0.2Cd mass production minimum wind resistance coefficient" to create, and it has abandoned some sharpness in the shape. However, the tonnage size of the EQS is still there, and it can still be recognized at a glance -
"This is the S-Class in a large pure electric sedan."
New energy vehicles have a special advantage, it will blur the user's positioning in terms of styling - a 27/28-year-old young man like me, driving such an electric large luxury car, passers-by will not feel like you are a driver, nor will they feel that you are driving a company car.
Compared with the previous more "stunning" electric vehicle design, EQS has a wider curve and flattener curves, coupled with the aura of executive-level cars, EQS does not need to be highlighted and innovative in design.
A S-class without a standard, the design of the "bow body" with the shape of the slipback, EQS in the field of new energy vehicles actually played an elegant style.
As the first sedan of the EQ brand,
What I love more is the driver's seat
From the power point of view, the 450+ model we got is a single-motor rear-drive, 333 Ps power output entry model. Compared to the 580 4MATIC version of the model equipped with dual-motor four-wheel drive, it does not have a violent push back feeling, nor does it have a suffocating G value.
But the 450+ still has enough power reserves, the pedals of the heels respond, and the kinetic energy recovery that can make the rear passengers feel comfortable. In my opinion, the power output characteristics of the EQS are very similar to the 8-cylinder naturally aspirated sedan of more than 10 years ago – with a calm and unhurried temperament.
Of course, for an EQS, power does not seem to be a particularly important thing, it is appropriate to have enough reserves, driving an "electric S-class" on the streets of Chengdu, comfort is the core appeal of large administrative cars.
Nowadays, the size of the car is getting bigger and bigger, and you drive an old S-class that is more than 5 meters long in the alleys of the old city, and you will feel that the wrong car is very cramped. Of course, the S-Class is now equipped with a rear-wheel follow-up steering system, and this 450+ version of the EQS is no exception – with a maximum turning angle of 4.5 degrees and a minimum turning radius of 11.9m, allowing you to drive a 5-meter-long executive-class sedan in the alleys of the old city without much psychological burden.
Similarly, for those who can consume S-class, the mileage of EQS is not the most important focus of consumers in this segment. But in fact, we know that an EQS will not have less endurance than a fully oiled S400L – the CLTC cruising range given by EQS has exceeded 800km.
7 points of "S-class luxury",
9 points of technology luxury
Although it is not known how the next generation of S-Class will perform, Mercedes-Benz has drawn a new blueprint for large luxury cars with EQS.
I believe that many people are amazed by this OLED super-screen with a width of more than 1.4 meters and built into the latest generation of MBUX intelligent human-computer interaction system. From the perspective of visual experience, EQS covered three screens with a piece of Corning Gorilla Curved Glass, the overall sense is very strong, the contrast of the picture is high, and the black areas and edges are treated with gradients.
And my personal favorite interior design of EQS is precisely the details that many new energy models have not done.
For example, this complete air conditioning panel area below the large screen, compared with those that only display air conditioning status information, EQS can achieve "zero menu level" operation during driving.
The screen in front of the co-pilot also has a complete MBUX system, but the menu hierarchy is relatively more complex. It is worth mentioning that if you want to operate the co-pilot's entertainment screen in the driver's seat, as long as you put your eyes on the screen, EQS will automatically turn off the co-pilot screen and dim it. The emphasis on safety concepts in each generation of S-Class is passed on at EQS through these small details.
And this intelligent interactive experience is really the luxury that can be felt, and the luxury of science and technology is not just the stacking of screens.
Therefore, the intelligent experience that this super-joint screen on EQS can show, brings people enjoyment in the visual and tactile sense, but makes the S-level MBUX system look more like a transitional product.
Driver's Summary:
The EQS, like the S-Class, bears the "S" – the letter that symbolizes the identity of a large luxury car, but in reality they are basically two models with different orientations. Consumers who come to the traditional S-class luxury may feel a little disappointed, if you put aside the "S" in the name and look at the standards of today's trams, the significance of EQS is to set a new million-level luxury benchmark in the field of new energy vehicles.
Many people will ask: "The same Mercedes-Benz large luxury car, why don't I buy an S-Class and buy an EQS?" ", but I think this is a pseudo-proposition, for consumers who agree with the Mercedes-Benz brand million-class car, they already have an S-class for business or administrative purposes, then choosing a less "administrative" EQS is more like choosing a car for themselves -
More suitable for large luxury cars to enjoy with the family.
