In 1940, Chen Guangjing was born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, to a family of medical practitioners. His father was a local teacher and doctor, and both parents were devout Believers in Buddhism.
Under the influence of her parents, Chen Guangjing's sister became a Buddhist monk at a young age, and Chen Guangjing was also a monk at the age of 13 in Fenghuangguan, Yanting Town, Cangnan County.
At the end of the 1960s, during that special period, the Phoenix Temple was collectively smashed and burned by the local villagers. Chen Guangjing did not resent anything, she just silently came to the town of the Southern Song Dynasty next door, silently built a simple shed here, and continued to cultivate.
It was not until the 1980s that she came to the Santai Taoist Temple on Yandang Mountain and lived there for a long time ever since. In 1984, Chen Guangjing took out the incense money she had accumulated for many years to rebuild the Santai Taoist Academy, where she served as the presiding officer and executive director of the Wenzhou and Pingyang County Taoist Associations.
Until 1993, 53-year-old Chen Guangjing still lived a peaceful and poor life.
By chance, she adopted 72 abandoned babies in 27 years
In 1993, Chen Guangjing and his disciples were in their morning class when they suddenly heard the sound of babies crying outside the door. When I went out to see, it was a four- or five-year-old boy crying, the boy was sent by a homeless old man, according to him, the boy was abandoned in Lingxi Town, for two or three days no one cared, fortunately, the old man passed by here and found the boy, only to be sent to the Taoist Temple on the mountain several times.
Chen Guangjing also understood some medical theory, and when he saw the boy's face turning purple and breathing, he knew that the boy must have congenital heart disease. Although Chen Guangjing was heartbroken, he was also very hesitant, if he took it in, the Taoist Temple has always been vegetarian, and the child's nutrition can keep up. But if you abandon it, you can't bear it.
Chen Guangjing still took the little boy down, and under the careful care of her and the four apprentices, the little boy's body actually improved a lot, which made Chen Guangjing very happy, and named the boy "Pick-up", which means that the child who was sent over was picked up on the road.
The news that the Taoist Temple had taken in abandoned babies soon spread throughout the Yandang Mountains, and while people praised the Daoist elders for their benevolence, they brought a lot of trouble to the Taoist Temple.
Soon after, a baby girl who had just been born a month ago appeared silently at the door of the Taoist Temple, wrapped in an old dress, with 52 yuan with her and the girl's date of birth. This is the mother's iron heart to abandon her daughter. Chen Guangjing named the girl "Zilai" and also took her in.
But then, a baby girl who was only 4 days old was also abandoned by her parents, and there was only one note in the package: "Please, Daogu do good deeds and accumulate virtue, and adopt the child." Chen Guangjing picked up the child painfully, her heart was not always a taste, these girls were very healthy and lovely, but why did they have to be abandoned, because of this ugly patriarchal idea, so that these girls had no place to live in the first birth.
Later, when Chen Guangjing and his disciples went down the mountain to make purchases, they would pay attention to the situation on the street. Once she found a severely disabled beggar on the side of the road with a girl who was a few months old struggling to beg for food, how could this afford to raise a child? Chen Guangjing took the initiative to show his identity and wanted to adopt the girl, the beggar was grateful after hearing about it, and the governor gave the beggar 2,000 yuan to buy a disabled car.
In 1995, Xiao Shi's heart disease was suddenly serious, Chen Guangjing took him to Wenzhou City Hospital for examination, and found that his condition was already very serious, requiring 20,000 yuan of surgery costs, which was an astronomical figure for Chen Guangjing, who had always been poor, but she was still determined to cure Xiao Shijing's illness.
After returning to the Taoist Temple, Chen Guangjing wrote a wooden sign with a pen, collected the surgical cost of the small pick-up from the pilgrims who came to the incense, got the enthusiastic support of the pilgrims, and made up a total of 3200 yuan before and after, and finally the Dao chief personally calculated the auspicious day, and delivered the completed surgical fee to the hospital, and the operation of the small pick-up was also successful.
Later, after the body of the pick-up was recovered, Chen Guangjing sent him to the "second cave in the world" in the Dayou Palace in Huangyan City, and asked Hua chenghe to take him in, where the life of the small pick-up could be better improved.
Since then, many abandoned babies have come to the Taoist Temple, sometimes even more than 10 abandoned babies a month. The daily life in the Taoist Temple can only be pulled by Chen Guangjing alone, and the hardships in it can be imagined, but she still persevered. Waiting for the children to be a little older, and finally can change the diapers of those young children, Chen Guangjing can finally relax, but after all, the children's age is still small, and Chen Guangjing, who is more than 70 years old, still has to take care of the lives of dozens of people.
In order to save money, Chen Guangjing often ate the children's leftover meals, once Chen Guangjing accidentally fell, and she refused to go to the hospital to see a doctor in order to save some medical expenses, and as a result, she fell ill and could only walk on crutches.
But Chen Guangjing never complained.
No suffering, no enlightenment, blessings, blessings, I don't want
Chen Guangjing often tells children that no matter when and where they are, they must have a compassionate heart, do their best to benefit the society, and do what the family should do.
And she also said: "Now is different from before, no culture is not possible, can not delay these children, must let them study, it is best to enter the university." In this way, relying on a few acres of land next to the Taoist Temple and not exuberant incense money, Chen Guangjing actually provided so many children with reading, she asked the children to get up at 5 o'clock every day to get up for morning classes, and those children who had not yet reached school age were taught by older children.
Chen Guangjing often sighed as she looked at these children: "The cats in the Taoist Temple have given birth to cubs, and the mother cats must hold the cubs tightly in their mouths.
But she taught these children that their mothers were pregnant in October and gave birth to them, so don't resent their birth mothers.
Under the careful teaching of Chen Guangjing, the children in the Taoist Temple are healthy, intelligent, optimistic and kind, and thriving.
But Chen Guangjing also has her regrets, in difficult times, she had to let the children find a better way out, to adopt children people to show that they have money and ability, and Chen Guangjing Daochang's request is only one: leave a contact information, so that she can often contact the child.
But these people verbally promised that after taking the child away, they quickly refused to accept Chen Guangjing's call, and some even took the child to other cities, and there was no more news, which made the old man's heart always empty, and every time he thought about it, he couldn't help but feel sad.
As the children grow up, most of them have left the Taoist Temple, Chen Guangjing is still not very assured, she hopes that the society can provide jobs for these children, so that they can have a foothold. At the same time, she also hopes that the children will pass on the good deeds from generation to generation.
In this way, with some expectations and some regrets, in November 2020, Chen Guangjing Dao was in Wenzhou Yuhua Dengzhen, at the age of 80.
I believe that this compassion from Chen Guangjing will be passed on forever and light up the light of the fire in society.
