Today, the 32nd Shanghai Lantern Festival was held in Pudong, another landmark building in Pudong, the newly completed Pudong New Area Mass Culture and Art Museum. Nearly 50 calligraphers and painters from the five districts of Pudong, Hongkou, Songjiang, Yangpu and Chongming in Shanghai gathered together to welcome the Lantern Festival of the Year of the Tiger in the fragrant fragrance of Hanmo. Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Shanghai Municipal Federation of Literature and Literature, Shanghai Calligraphers Association, Shanghai Artists Association, and relevant leaders of Pudong, Hongkou, Songjiang, Yangpu and Chongming districts attended the event.

Ink painting has a long vein
Since the end of the 1980s, the Lantern Calligraphy and Painting Pen Association in the five districts of Shanghai has been held for 32 consecutive sessions, and the pen and ink rhyme has accompanied the citizens through the Lantern Festival, creating more than 3,000 calligraphy and painting works, effectively promoting the cultural construction of various districts, and becoming a more influential interactive platform for calligraphy and painting art exchanges and public cultural activities in Shanghai.
At this year's PEN conference, Pudong served as the host, together with Hongkou, Yangpu, Songjiang and Chongming, to recount the love affair of the five districts with the art of calligraphy and painting, carry forward traditional culture, promote cultural exchanges in the five districts, and display cultural and artistic achievements.
After the official launch of the PEN Club, the calligraphers and painters not only created calligraphy and painting works, but also jointly created two theme paintings to depict the grand scenery of the motherland and Shanghai, and to praise the brilliant achievements of the new era. This year, PEN invited experts such as Ding Shenyang, vice chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Culture and Art Circles and chairman of the Shanghai Calligraphers Association, to comment on the works. The artists who participated in the PEN conference innovated on the basis of rooted traditions, and their works had distinct themes and diverse styles, including magnificent rivers and mountains, flowers and birds, Lin Zhi, as well as humanistic customs and historical heritage, which fully demonstrated the artistic achievements and characteristics of Haipai calligraphy and painting, and highlighted the spirit of the times.
Compared with previous editions, this year's event pays more attention to interaction with the public, and on the morning of the PEN Conference, Liu Xiaoqing, consultant of the Shanghai Calligraphers Association and librarian of the Shanghai Museum of Culture and History, was invited to hold a lecture on "The Creation and Appreciation of Calligraphy Art" for the citizens, so that art can enter the citizens and present a cultural feast for the citizens. At the same time, the PEN collection collected a total of 68 calligraphy and painting works created by calligraphers and painters in the five districts, which were exhibited in the B1 exhibition hall of the Pudong New Area Mass Culture and Art Museum from February 14 to March 1.

As one of the special activities of the first Pudong New Year Folk Culture Festival, this PEN meeting not only added a peaceful and festive atmosphere during the New Year, but also warmed up the newly inaugurated Pudong New Area Mass Culture and Art Museum, which opened the prelude to a series of colorful cultural activities in Pudong New Area this year. After the PEN meeting, the Pudong Mass Culture and Art Museum will be officially opened on the day of the Lantern Festival, and will hold the Lantern Lantern Festival of the first Pudong Annual Culture Series of activities of "Happy Magic City New Year Taste pudong", integrating calligraphy and painting display, guessing lantern riddles, flower viewing lanterns, folk pop-ups, Shanghai opera performances, online lighting and other blessing activities, to present a cultural event with both culture and ornamentation for the public. With the opening of the new Pudong New Area Mass Culture and Art Museum, in the future, the public can also enjoy and experience many literary and artistic performances, competitions, calligraphy and painting exhibitions, film and television appreciation, free art courses, intangible cultural heritage experiences and markets and other colorful cultural activities, further enriching and enhancing the cultural life of citizens.
