On May 3, 2024, the Hong Kong Bauhinia College (HKBC) held a meaningful information session, marking the official opening of the future education collaboration between the Hong Kong Bauhinia College and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST CAESER). The launch of this cooperation not only highlights a substantial leap forward in the relationship between the two parties, but also an innovative attempt to integrate secondary education and higher education. The seminar will be divided into two sessions, which will start at HKUST in the summer of 2024, with the first session from July 22 to August 2 and the second session from August 5 to August 16. The Hong Kong Bauhinia College and Prof. Zhu Pengyu, Director of the Centre for Applied Economics, Society and the Environment (CAESER) of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, jointly announced the collaboration plan of the "Advanced Placement Research Programme" and depicted the hope of jointly nurturing future scientific research and innovation talents.
The launch of this cooperation marks further cooperation between the two parties in breaking down barriers between higher and secondary education, sharing high-quality educational resources and research facilities, and jointly initiating interdisciplinary and cross-field education projects. The Hong Kong Bauhinia College and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (CAESER) will work together to educate the next generation and stimulate the research enthusiasm and academic interest of high school students.
Drawing on HKUST's CAESER expertise in economic, social and environmental studies, secondary school students have the opportunity to participate in policy research and social service projects, learning how to use rigorous research methods to provide a solid basis for government decision-making, and help solve economic, social and environmental problems faced by the region and the world. The Hong Kong Bauhinia College will also leverage its strengths in secondary education to actively support students to participate in scientific research projects and promote the transformation of their students' research results.
The two parties will work together to broaden the education network, attract outstanding students from all over the world to participate in scientific research, jointly cultivate a new generation of scientific research talents, and strive to add a strong touch to the global map of knowledge and scientific and technological innovation.
