Yu Yong is a Taiwanese artist, currently the director of The Green Snow Museum, under the tutelage of Li Lincan, former vice president of the National Palace Museum in Taiwan, and has been living in Yunnan for 24 years. His sculpture art has a traditional literati atmosphere, integrates the content of ethnic minority folk culture, and organically absorbs the concepts and techniques of modern and contemporary art, and is one of the representatives of the contemporary breakthroughs in the traditional art of stone appreciation, wood play and wood carving, and he put forward a new concept of "natural sculpture" in long-term creative practice. This exhibition exhibits 65 sculptures created by Yu Yong, and for the first time presents the whole picture of the artist's creation in a more systematic way. In order to express his gratitude for the hot land of Yunnan, Yu Yong donated three works to the Yunnan Literature and Art Museum at the launching ceremony: "傩", "Asking For Yourself", and "Asking Questions", of which "傩" was the 13th National Art Exhibition.

On the day of the launch, experts and scholars conducted extensive discussions on the concept of "natural sculpture". Sun Jiong, executive director of the Chinese Society for the History of National Philosophy and Thought, believes that Yu Yong's artistic creation plays an imaginary and close to nature, connects tradition and contemporary with creative works, and provides a place for the soul of beauty, wisdom and goodness; Zhu Qi, ph.D. of the China Academy of Arts and researcher of the Theory Department of the National Academy of Painting, believes that Yu Yong's works have found a modern path of literati aesthetics from the Chinese system, following the modernity of calligraphy and ink painting in the 20th century, and have opened up a new modern transformation of literati art; curator, Zhao Xingyuan, ph.D. of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and associate professor of the Yunnan Academy of Arts, believes that for a hundred years, China's culture and art have been in the process of "modern transformation", and in sculpture art, Western evaluation criteria are often taken as the first. Yu Yong's art has a unique meaning and cultural connotation, and has a unique value of enlightenment in the trend of Chinese modern and contemporary sculpture creation; Li Yan, dean of the Institute of Cultural Development of Yunnan University, said that Yu Yong constantly absorbs nutrients from traditional culture, walks and observes in the field, and guides people to think about nature, life and life in art.
