On February 14, the 2021 "Henan Intangible Cultural Heritage Annual Figures" selection and publicity activity, guided by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Henan Province and sponsored by Henan Daily, determined the list of 30 candidates after registration collection and preliminary evaluation by experts.
The 2021 "Henan Intangible Cultural Heritage Person of the Year" selection campaign was launched on January 21, and was divided into four stages: registration, primary election, voting and final election. This activity has been highly concerned by all sectors of society, the province's non-genetic heirs enthusiastically registered to participate, from nearly 300 registered non-genetic heirs to select the list of shortlisted candidates, and finally according to online voting and expert review, 10 of the 30 shortlisted candidates will be selected from the 2021 "Henan Intangible Cultural Heritage Person of the Year".

The 30 shortlisted candidates this time include not only the top figures in various fields of intangible cultural heritage, but also young and up-and-coming people who have made outstanding contributions to the innovative development of intangible cultural heritage in our province in recent years, and have a wide influence in society. This selection activity is the first time in the field of Henan Intangible Cultural Heritage, which is a pioneering exploration and a concrete measure to implement the strategy of cultural and creative integration of culture and tourism in our province. With the theme of "Brilliant Intangible Cultural Heritage Leading the Future", the event focused on the outstanding non-genetic inheritance and innovation practices in 2021, summarized the experience and results of the creative transformation and innovative development of Henan's intangible cultural heritage work, and selected the leading, exemplary, innovative and contributing intangible cultural heritage annual figures. Through the publicity of these outstanding typical figures, tell the stories of non-hereditary inheritors well, and give play to their exemplary and leading role, with a view to promoting the integration of intangible cultural heritage into the times and modern life, so that intangible cultural heritage can be "alive" and "fire".
