Article 4 of the fourth part of the "Plan" points out that the next stage of light vehicles, heavy vehicle emission standards and oil quality standards are studied and formulated.
This seems to be sending a signal that the China VII emission standard, which was once positioned as "the most stringent National VI vehicle emission standard in history", will be put on the agenda.
The China VI emissions that are being implemented are already quite stringent, and the China VI emission standards integrate European and American standards and improve some standards on their basis, and the requirements for vehicle exhaust emission pollutants are more stringent. Compared with the previous emission standards, the China VI emission standards have been significantly optimized in many aspects, and the China VI emission standards stipulate that the emission level of vehicles can be more comprehensively and objectively determined, and it is easier to implement and supervise.
The 2021 "Letter to the European Commission Euro VII Emission Industry" said that the Euro VII emission standards require that the carbon monoxide emissions of exhaust gases be reduced from the current 500-1000 mg/km to 100-300 mg/km, while the emissions of nitrogen oxides must be reduced to 30 mg/km.
The implementation of more stringent Euro VII emission standards, the first is that global car companies can only develop small displacement internal combustion engines or even new energy (pure electricity), although it will help to achieve carbon neutrality, but for existing technology, small internal combustion engines are difficult to integrate the above elements together, and even if there is technical support, the cost of traditional fuel vehicles will be greatly improved.
According to some of the limits of Euro VII to simply judge our National VII standards, the first is that the emission of pollutants is definitely 3-5 times lower than the current China VI, and will also strengthen remote supervision. Whether it is Euro 7 or China 7, the main change is to lower the limit of pollutant emissions to obtain cleaner exhaust gases.
"Study and formulate the next stage of light vehicles, heavy vehicle emission standards and oil quality standards." Once again, it sounded a wake-up call for us. The most daunting challenge for vehicles is the durability of emission control equipment. In addition to the durability of emission control equipment, automakers must also pass the Actual Vehicle Road Emissions (RDE) test, which is far more difficult than using a drum road simulator to complete the test under controlled laboratory conditions. Automakers who fail to meet lifetime low emission standards for vehicles will not only face hefty fines, but also lose the trust of consumers, so they must do everything in their power to meet them. Based on this, the cost of vehicle research and development will inevitably rise.
At present, there are two speculative voices in the industry, for models equipped with diesel engines, one is to improve thermal efficiency, improve the combustion effect of fuel, and reduce pollutant emissions. The other is to use a hybrid scheme to reduce the frequency and time of diesel engines in certain speed and speed situations with the help of electric motors, so as to reduce the emission of pollutants per mile, so as to meet regulatory requirements.
