What is the "China VI Standard"
"National Six Standards" refers to the national sixth stage of motor vehicle pollutant emission standards, which is to implement the "Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China" and the "Air Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People's Republic of China", to prevent and control the pollution of the environment by the exhaust of pressure-fired and gas-fueled ignition engines, to protect the ecological environment, and to protect human health. It includes two parts: "Pollutant Emission Limits and Measurement Methods for Light Vehicles (China Phase VI)" and "Pollutant Emission Limits and Measurement Methods for Heavy-duty Diesel Vehicles (China Phase VI)".
The China VI emission standard has been raised by 40% to 50% on the basis of China V, claiming to be the most stringent emission standard in history.
The implementation of the China VI standard is divided into two stages, 6a and 6b, the 6a stage began to be implemented on July 1, 2020, and the 6b stage began to be implemented on July 1, 2023. The 6a stage is further improved on the basis of China V, and the 6b stage is the real National VI standard.
Classification of imported cars
Imported cars are mainly divided into two categories: Chinese imports and parallel imports.

Parallel importers of automobiles must ensure that they meet the mandatory requirements of the national technical specifications for the safety of motor vehicle operation (GB7258).
Customs checks the safety signs one by one when importing cars in parallel, and inspects the specifications, models, quantities, appearance, vehicle-accompanying tools, technical documents and spare parts, etc.; implements safety and quality project inspections in accordance with national laws and regulations and mandatory standards on the safety and environmental protection of automobiles.

Exhaust pollutant detection
Exhaust pollutants testing is based on the test results of third-party testing agencies recognized by Customs. The test results should meet the requirements of "Gasoline Vehicle Pollutant Emission Limits and Measurement Methods (Double Idle Method and Simple Working Condition Method)" (GB18285-2018), "Diesel Vehicle Pollutant Emission Limits and Measurement Methods (Free Acceleration Method and Loading Deceleration Method)" (GB3847-2018).
Vehicles such as full-time four-wheel drive vehicles and timely four-wheel drive vehicles that cannot manually switch the two-wheel drive mode, and cannot be detected by the simple working condition method or the load deceleration method, the detection can be carried out according to the dual idle method or the free acceleration method.
