The picture of this New Year painting is printed with the words "Dong Daxingrong", which means that this is an artistic treasure during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty.

Jiajiang New Year painting adopts the ancient wooden board overprinting technique, hand-painted by folk artists, and then paste the drawing on the wooden board, carved by the engraver to print the plate, from shallow to deep gradually overprinted, a New Year painting usually has to be printed five or six times, and some New Year paintings are overprinted as many as seven or eight times. This was the most advanced color printing technique in the world at that time, with a unique and strong artistic style.

According to the records, the Jiajiang Nian painting began in the Ming Dynasty, and around the time of the Ming Dynasty Wanli and the Apocalypse, there were Nian painting workshops in jiajiang. At the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, jiajiang new year painting gradually prospered, together with mianzhu new year painting and Liang Pingnian painting, called "Sichuan three major new year paintings". During the Qianlong period, workshops such as "Dong Daxingrongji" and "Li Hongfa" specially printed New Year paintings. "Dong Daxingrong", "Dong Daxingfa" and several other leading workshops, all year round are printing New Year paintings, the products are not only best-selling in Yunguichuan, but also exported to Southeast Asian countries.
