Beijing, February 27 (Xinhua) -- Chen Yushu, member of the Standing Committee of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Chinese classical furniture artist and chairman of the Four Gentlemen Art Center, was invited to create "Songfeng" No. 5 by the Art Museum of China and the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum. This is the first time that the National Museum of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Mainland has collected classical furniture works.

Chen Yushu introduced that in addition to the impact of hearing, vision, smell and touch, the greater shock of "Pine Wind" comes from the resonance of the soul. "Although the elements of the overall work are derived from the wisdom of skilled craftsmen for thousands of years, how to make its artistic soul bloom again, so that the creation of classical furniture is the same frequency as the times and with history, is the mission and dream of artists in our time." He said that the era branding of "Songfeng" is precisely in line with the concept of "the writer, the instrument that runs through the Tao", and it is also the meaning of carrying the Tao with the instrument, carrying the Tao with the technique, reaching the Tao by the technique, and driving the technique with the Tao.

As a director of the National Museum Foundation, a special expert of the Yuanmingyuan, and a well-known classical furniture artist, Chen Yushu is good at integrating, infiltrating and expressing the Confucian cultural connotation in the creation of Classical Chinese furniture art, thus creating a number of influential classical furniture works.

Every time there is a major national event, he will combine the corresponding themes and draw creative inspiration from Chinese culture, such as being invited to create works for the two sessions of the National People's Congress last year; creating the "Same Way" series for the centenary of the Communist Party of China; and creating a set of furniture works "Heaven and Earth" specially created for the Beijing Winter Olympics. "Songfeng", which is collected by the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, is its representative work in recent years.

The Museum of Arts and Crafts of China and the Museum of Intangible Cultural Heritage of China are located on the north extension of the central axis of Beijing, with a total construction area of 91,126 square meters and a total of six floors on the ground, from the groundbreaking ceremony in March 2019 to the official opening in February 2022, which took nearly three years to complete, and the completion of the museum filled the gap of the national museum of Chinese arts and crafts and intangible cultural heritage.
