Skiing, ice skating, rock climbing, VR skiing... Colorful ice and snow play projects have become a new sports fashion for people to celebrate the New Year in Beijing.
On the 9th, the Beijing News Center held a special press conference on "Service Guarantee for Beijing Winter Olympic Venues". At the meeting, Lin Hang, deputy mayor of Haidian District of Beijing, introduced that holding urban cultural activities for the Winter Olympics is not only a service guarantee for the work of the Winter Olympics, but also a stage to show the cultural characteristics of the city. In particular, the Beijing Winter Olympics coincided with the spring festival of the traditional festival of the Chinese nation, Haidian District dug deep into excellent historical and cultural resources, high-quality cultural heritage and scientific and technological innovation characteristics, with the theme of "Together to the Future", relying on the 2022 "Sea Spring" New Year Cultural Season to create a unique Haidian charm of the urban cultural activity platform, writing the "Haidian Expression" of the "City of The Two Olympics" cultural activities.

Beijing's 16 Winter Olympic Cultural Squares have been operated during the Spring Festival, launching 195 cultural activities with more than 120,000 participants. Haidian District Winter Olympic Cultural Square is located in the "Three Mountains and Five Gardens" original Changchun Garden West Garden ruins, the current Haidian Park, is the 2008 Summer Olympic Games Cultural Square. During the Spring Festival, it provides services such as theatrical performances, event broadcasts, exhibition displays, interactive experiences, and retailing of licensed goods for the public. Professional cultural performances, "Winter Olympic Ice and Snow Art Exhibition", painted faces and other intangible cultural heritage handicraft experience, VR skiing, "liquid simulation ice", intelligent robots and other projects are displayed in a concentrated manner, attracting tens of thousands of citizens to come here to feel the rich "cultural flavor" and "scientific and technological wind".
"The Winter Olympics have driven the enthusiasm of the public for ice and snow." Lin Hang said that at present, 50 primary and secondary schools in Haidian District have been listed as pilot schools for ice and snow sports, and the number of students participating in ice and snow sports has reached more than 110,000. During the Spring Festival, the ice and snow sports venues in Haidian District received more than 40,000 people, and experiencing the fun of ice and snow became a new fashion of sports.

Huang Keying, deputy secretary of the Yanqing District Party Committee of Beijing, said that since January this year, focusing on the theme of ice and snow, Yanqing District has carried out winter cultural tourism activities of "eating dumplings, watching the Winter Olympics, and celebrating the New Year at the foot of the Great Wall", with the help of the Winter Olympic torch to transmit the heat, the East Wind held by the Winter Olympics, the Ice Lantern Ice and Snow Season in Longqingxia, the Ice and Snow Carnival of Shiyuan Park, Vanke Shijinglong and Badaling Ski Resort, becoming the "Net Red Punch card" this winter.
She pointed out that during the Spring Festival, Yanqing District received a total of 467,000 tourists, achieved tourism income of 72.339 million yuan, the average occupancy rate of boutique homestays exceeded 80%, the number of rural tourism receptions ranked first in the city, the Winter Olympics will further highlight the driving role of ice and snow tourism, and the popularity of "the most beautiful Winter Olympic City" has further heated up.
Shijingshan District has an indissoluble relationship with the Olympic Games. Qi Chunli, spokesman for Shijingshan District of Beijing, introduced that through the introduction of social forces, Shijingshan District has formed a layout of "ten ices and six snows" venues and facilities, which includes both professional venues such as the National Winter Training Center and public ice and snow venues such as the Citizens' Ice and Snow Sports Center. At the same time, the district also uses advanced technology to build seasonal ice and snow leisure venues and movable assembly ice rinks in communities, schools and sports venues to meet the needs of different groups of people in ice and snow sports. In the past three years, the district has received about 490,000 people on ice and snow.
Qi Chunli said that in the process of promoting the creation of the demonstration area of "driving 300 million people to participate in ice and snow sports", one of the characteristics of Shijingshan District is that teenagers go to ice and snow. The district has achieved 100% ice training for students and 100% for sports and dance teachers. At the same time, we will increase the construction of campus ice and snow facilities, build 13 simulated ice rinks in primary and secondary schools and kindergartens, and achieve full coverage of eight major education groups, including the construction of real curling venues in Power Plant Road Primary School to provide convenience for students to learn and experience ice and snow sports. At present, the district has built 8 municipal ice and snow sports characteristic schools, 19 district-level ice and snow sports characteristic schools and 10 Olympic education demonstration schools, each school has a key development of ice and snow projects; the district has a total of 20 campus ice and snow sports teams such as ice hockey, figure skating, and biathlon.
Qi Chunli pointed out that while the campus ice and snow sports are hot, the whole district has widely carried out mass ice and snow fitness activities. For seven consecutive years, it has held mass ice and snow brand activities such as the ice and snow season in Shijingshan District and the walk to 2022, created a "one street, one product" community ice and snow brand such as the Winter Olympics Family Games, and organized more than 100 ice and snow activities such as the West Beijing Ice and Snow Carnival every year. According to statistics, the number of participants in ice and snow sports in the whole district is about 300,000 every year, accounting for 52.6% of the population of the whole district, and ice and snow sports have been popularized in the whole district.
"Especially during this year's Winter Olympics, the enthusiasm of citizens to participate in ice and snow sports is even higher." Qi Chunli said that Shijingshan District insists on taking advantage of the Winter Olympics and drives ice and snow sports to the public through the development of the industry. (End)
