Macao, April 7 (Xinhua) -- The first class of the public welfare plan project "A Lesson for Grandparents" was successfully held at the Southeast School of Macao on April 7, marking the official landing of the program in Macao, which is the first time that the program has entered the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions.
On the same day, sponsored by the Macao Frost Ice and Snow Creation Experimental Theater Troupe and funded by the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region, "A Lesson on Grandparents" (Chinese Culture) invited respected elders from different industries in Macao to personally give lectures to Primary and Secondary School Students in Macao around the fields of Chinese tea culture, fan craft, bamboo craft, Chinese painting, calligraphy and Go. The first class introduced the relevant knowledge of Macao fan craftsmanship, which was loved by many teenagers.
It is reported that "A Lesson from Grandparents" originated in 2014, the concept comes from the moving inheritance felt by the initiative initiator He Yongqiang during a post-disaster community reconstruction, and has established a cooperative network in 27 provinces and cities across the country, inviting more than 3,600 elders as lecturers and serving 450,000 teenagers.
For the first time, the charity project was launched in Hong Kong and Macao, and the opportunity stemmed from the "7th Cixiao Cultural Festival" in 2021. The Frost Ice and Snow Creation Experimental Theater Troupe from Macao won the "2021 Filial Piety Person of the Year" with the youth's spontaneous national tour of "Bitter Ends" and the initiator of the public welfare project "Grandparents a Lesson", two teams from different regions, jointly inheriting the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation, and the same mission and concept contributed to the cooperation of this plan.
The Frost Ice and Snow Creation Experimental Theater Troupe said that it looks forward to allowing elders with rich life experience and local knowledge to communicate face-to-face with young people through the Series of Chinese Culture Classes, so that the elders of Macao and the culture of the Sar.
