Macao, April 29 (China News Network) -- The stage play "A Wave of Wind and Waves" created by the Macao Frost and Ice Creation Experimental Theatre Troupe was performed on the Broadway Stage in Macao on April 29, which is a theme stage play created by the youth of the Macao Special Administrative Region to pay tribute to the May Fourth Movement.

It is reported that "A Wave of Wind and Waves" takes the themes of media ethics, dream pursuit and innovation, fairness and freedom, and inheritance of the times as the starting point, triggering the reflection of contemporary youth on social responsibility. The whole drama takes the articles and historical briefs published by the new youth in the May Fourth period as the main line, combines multimedia arts such as film and music, explores the core of the May Fourth spirit through a new perspective, and inspires young people to consciously shoulder the responsibilities of the times with modern stage art.

The performance was funded by the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and supported by the Broadway Stage, and co-chaired the opening ceremony by Xu Ting, Minister of Education and Youth Work of the Macao Central Liaison Office, and Zhang Minhui, Director of the Youth Department of the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, and Lin Weiqi, Director of the Macao Frost And Ice Creative Experimental Theatre Company. Teachers and students from various schools in Macao and representatives of clubs attended the performance.

"In 1919, the May Fourth New Youth opened a new chapter in Chinese history with their strength. Today, we also hope to undertake the mission that belongs to this era, pay tribute to the May Fourth Movement with theatrical art, extend the May Fourth spirit with words and deeds, work hard with contemporary youth, work hard and work together, and relay the power of new youth in the tide of the times.
