Tesla's workforce is close to 100,000 after growing 40 percent in 2021

Webmaster's House (ChinaZ.com) Feb. 8 News: Tesla revealed in its 10-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that as of December 31, 2021, the company employed 99,290 people. This is a significant increase compared to the company's hiring at the end of 2020. Tesla reported 70,757 employees at the end of 2020, and these figures only count full-time employees.

Tesla said in the filing, "So far, we have not stopped work due to labor disputes, and we think we have a good relationship with our employees." Key human capital objectives for the management of our business include attracting, developing and retaining top talent while incorporating diversity, equity and inclusion principles and practices into our core values."

In the automotive industry, Tesla began to catch up with some big companies in terms of the global workforce. Some of the largest and best-known companies in the industry employ hundreds of thousands of workers. Ford reported that it will employ about 180,000 people in 2020. Volkswagen says it will employ around 665,000 people worldwide in 2020. Volkswagen is the largest employer in the automotive industry, with Toyota ranking second with more than 370,000 employees.

Due to continuous expansion, Tesla's workforce continues to expand rapidly. Tesla appears to be opening new showrooms, service centers and other facilities every week. In addition, many of the company's long-term goals, including expanding service centers and charging stations, have helped increase the number of employees.

Musk said late last year that his company employs about 110,000 people.
