New Zealand's North Island, the smaller island in the north of New Zealand's two main islands. It is located in the southwest of the South Pacific Ocean, across the Cook Strait from the South Island. From North Cape to North Cape in the north and Cape Paliser in the south, the distance is 816 kilometers, the maximum width from east to west is 320 kilometers, and the area is 114,500 square kilometers.
