Shandong has also invested 750 million yuan in the Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve to implement ecological water replenishment, bird protection and other projects, promote the harmonious coexistence between man and nature, and create a veritable paradise for migratory birds. At present, the number of observed birds in the reserve has increased from 187 when the area was established in 1990 to 371 species, and the number of 38 species of birds exceeds 1% of the global total, making it the largest breeding ground for the Eastern White Stork in the world.
