In history, behind every successful man, there is always a woman who pays silently. They accompanied their husbands from the end of the day, and the two of them frothed with each other, and finally achieved a great cause for their husbands and the glory of the family. And Empress Ma of the Ming Dynasty was one of these great women.

Horse Queen
Empress Ma held a high position in the Ming Dynasty, and she made a proposal that Zhu Yuanzhang should also implement unconditionally. Someone once proposed that if Empress Ma was still alive when The Jianwen Emperor Zhu Yunjiao ascended the throne, would Zhu Di, the King of Yan, still dare to launch the "Battle of Jingnan" and seize the power of his nephew?
First, let's see what kind of queen Ma is. Empress Ma, the daughter of Guo Zixing's friend Ma Gong, entrusted her daughter to Guo Zixing's care after Ma Gong died in battle. Ma Girl worked in Guo Zixing's logistics department every day, helping her father and managing the logistics of the troops.
One day, when Empress Ma was going to the market to buy grain, she saw a bald monk come forward to make a fortune. Although this monk was of a low status, he was very good-looking and quite heroic. The horse girl gave her rations to the little monk, and returned to the barracks hungry.
Ma Girl saves Zhu Zhongba
A few months later, Ma Maiden saw the monk again, who had already joined the army and had become the Qianzong of Guo Zixing's department. I only heard that this Qianzong named Zhu Zhongba always took the lead in every battle, had no fear, and was already a confidant of his righteous father. Lady Ma secretly agreed and asked her righteous father to marry her to Zhu Zhongba.
No matter how straight the tough guy is, he also has his own gentle side. When Zhu Zhongba was in the most difficult time, Ma Maiden married him and never abandoned him. In this way, the husband and wife joined hands, and they recruited more warriors and recovered more territory. With the assistance of The Horse Maiden, Zhu Zhongba finally ascended to the throne of the Nine-Five- Emperor.
After Zhu Yuanzhang ascended the throne as emperor, he crowned Lady Ma as empress, and later generations called her "Empress Ma". Empress Ma had always been kind, and she had the eldest son, Zhu Biao, who was crowned crown prince by Zhu Yuanzhang. Among the children of other concubines, Empress Ma also regarded them as her own and took care of them like a mother, including the later King Zhu Di of Yan.
Empress Ma persuaded her husband
After Zhu Yuanzhang ascended the throne, some powerful ministers annexed land, endangering one side. Zhu Yuanzhang used thunderous means to crack down on the heroes who broke the law, many of which were implicated. Empress Ma heard that some innocent heroes were implicated, and she found Zhu Yuanzhang and said to Zhu Yuanzhang:
"Concubines and husbands are easy to protect each other, and kings and courtiers are difficult to protect each other." His Majesty does not forget the concubines and the poor, and may not forget the hardships of the courtiers. ”
Zhu Yuanzhang, the hero of punishing the crime, was more cautious and would not implicate the innocent person for no reason, thanks to the persuasion of Empress Ma. Although Empress Ma was the most powerful empress of the Ming Dynasty, she tried her best to keep herself away from the government, and she would never discuss the government until the necessary moment.
Empress Ma attached great importance to the education of the princes, and although she did not have much culture, she liked to read history books to warn the concubines in the palace. Some people once said that the empress of the Song Dynasty was too benevolent, and when Empress Ma heard about it, she said to the concubines who were discussing: "Kindness is very good, is it good to be mean?" ”
Empress Ma reminded Zhu Yuanzhang all the time that you are a peasant's child and must seek the benefit of the peasants. Empress Ma once persuaded Zhu Yuanzhang:
"Your Majesty the Father of the world, concubines insult the mother of the world, the son of the peace, why not ask!"
Zhu Yuanzhang listened to Empress Ma's advice, continued to implement the policy of benefiting the country and the people, cracked down on corrupt officials and corrupt officials, and achieved very good results. Time is passing, and Zhu Yuanzhang and Empress Ma have also arrived at this day of separation. In 1382, Empress Ma suddenly fell seriously ill, and Zhu Yuanzhang issued an order: "Who can cure the empress?" Bounty of 10,000 yuan, sealing 10,000 households. ”
The doctors diagnosed and treated day and night, but still did not save the life of Empress Ma, who was still worried about the safety of the doctor on her deathbed. Her last words were not a major state affair, but a doctor who asked Zhu Yuanzhang for forgiveness, and she said to her husband:
"And how can a healer live!" If the medicine is not effective, will it not be a concubine and sin against the doctors? ”
Zhu Yuanzhang nodded, and Empress Ma died peacefully at the age of 51. Zhu Yuanzhang ordered empress Ma to be buried, and since then she has never been made an empress, and only empress Ma has one wife in her life. After 16 years, Zhu Yuanzhang died of illness and was finally reunited with Empress Ma, and the two couples no longer needed to be separated.
Zhu Yunjiao slashed the domain
The Jianwen Emperor Zhu Yunjiao ascended the throne, and soon after, the "Battle of Jingnan" broke out. If Empress Ma were still alive, would Zhu Di rebel? There were three major reasons that Doomed Zhu Di did not dare to rebel. The first reason is that mother and son are affectionate, and Zhu Di has been with Empress Ma since childhood and was raised by Empress Ma.
If Empress Ma was still alive, Zhu Di would certainly not rebel when she took into account her mother's mood. Zhu Di's birth mother cannot be verified, but it is an indisputable fact that he was raised by Empress Ma. Empress Ma was most concerned about the peace of the family, and if she was alive, Zhu Di would rather be killed herself than rebel.
Zhu Di
The second reason is that if Empress Ma were alive, her power would be comparable to that of Zhu Yuanzhang. Zhu Yuanzhang established the Ming Dynasty, although Zhu Yuanzhang was the emperor of the empire, but there were half of the empresses in this world, and the Manchu Dynasty Wenwu also recognized it. If Empress Ma reigned, even if Zhu Di rebelled, Empress Ma would be able to successfully suppress the rebellion.
The third reason is that Empress Ma is still alive, Zhu Di can't abandon his brotherhood with Zhu Biao, Zhu Biao is Zhu Di's eldest brother, and they grew up together. Empress Ma is here, even if the crown prince Zhu Biao dies, she can always wake up to Zhu Di, Zhu Yunjiao is the son of your eldest brother, and you cannot usurp his throne.
Some people once commented on the Battle of Jingnan, saying: "Even if the crown prince Zhu Biao was emperor for one day, Zhu Di had no possibility of succeeding in rebellion. This profoundly describes the relationship between the Zhu family, and Zhu Yunjiao skipped his father and became emperor as the emperor's grandson, which indeed gave the clan kings a reason to start a military.
Zhu Di, King of Yan
As long as Zhu Yuanzhang, Empress Ma, and Zhu Biao were alive, Zhu Di, the King of Yan, had no reason to rebel, nor was there a possibility of success in rebellion. These three people had all been Zhu Di's closest relatives, and he would not disregard their feelings and rebel. If Empress Ma was still alive, even if Emperor Jianwen wanted to kill Zhu Di, Zhu Di would certainly not rebel, he would only die willingly.
